Abstract:
An electronic storage system includes a substrate with a state region, a transceiver with memory and a controller, and a code circuit disposed over the substrate separate from the transceiver and electrically connected thereto. The code circuit includes a conductor whose electrical or mechanical state can be externally altered. At intervals, the transceiver electrically excites the code circuit and detects the electrical state of an input pad connected to the code circuit. The electrical state corresponds to the excitation and to the electrical or mechanical state of the conductor. The controller stores the detected state or a representation thereof in the memory. In response to a downlink signal, the transceiver transmits an uplink signal representing the stored detected electrical state(s) of the input pad, or the stored representations thereof.

Abstract:
An imaging kiosk comprises an image printer, a frame-specification reader for reading frame-specification information specifying two or more image openings in a picture frame, an image-acquisition device, and a computer system for controlling the image printer, the frame-specification reader, and the image-acquisition device. Images are acquired for rendering a single printable image having the two or more acquired images located in positions corresponding to the two or more image openings, and for printing the rendered image to make a frame-matched multi-image print.

Abstract:
A computer implemented method for making a single rendered printable image corresponding to a picture frame. Two or more digital images are arranged on a print sheet according to machine decodable frame-specification information that specifies where two or more image openings in a picture frame are situated. The two or more acquired images are rendered into a single printed page of images having the two or more acquired images located in positions corresponding to the image openings.

Abstract:
A method of making an electronic storage system includes receiving a substrate and a circuit template. A transceiver including a transceiver substrate separate from the substrate is disposed over the substrate. The transceiver includes an output electrical-connection pad, and a plurality of input electrical-connection pads. A circuit template is disposed over the substrate so that at least one of the conductors of the circuit template is electrically connected to the output pad and at least one of the conductors of the circuit template is electrically connected to each of the input pads. At least one electrically-conductive strap is printed over the substrate so that each strap electrically connects the output pad to the at least one of the input pads through at least two of the conductors of the circuit template.

Abstract:
A method of making an electronic storage system includes receiving a substrate with a detection region. A transceiver formed on a transceiver substrate separate from the substrate is affixed to the substrate. A code circuit separate from the transceiver is disposed over the substrate. The code circuit includes a conductor disposed over the substrate at least partly in the detection region. The conductor has an electrical state that changes in response to an environmental factor. The transceiver is electrically connected to the code circuit so that the transceiver can detect the electrical state of the conductor. The transceiver includes an interface adapted to selectively transmit an uplink signal representing the electrical state of the conductor.

Abstract:
An electronic storage system includes a substrate and a transceiver. The transceiver includes an interface that receives a downlink signal; an output electrical-connection pad; an excitation circuit adapted to provide an excitation signal to the output pad; at least one input electrical-connection pad; and a detection circuit connected to the input pad. A code circuit separate from the transceiver is disposed over the substrate. The code circuit electrically connects the output pad to the input pad, so that the detection circuit detects an electrical state of the input pad in response to the excitation signal. The interface transmits an uplink signal representing the electrical state response to the received downlink signal.

Abstract:
An electronic storage system includes a substrate with an alteration region. A transceiver includes an interface, an output electrical-connection pad, an excitation circuit that provides an excitation signal to the output pad, an input electrical-connection pad, and a detection circuit connected to the input pad. A code circuit separate from the transceiver is disposed over the substrate, and includes a conductor disposed over the substrate in the alteration region, the conductor having a mechanical state. The code circuit electrically connects the output pad to the input pad, so that the detection circuit detects an electrical state of the input pad in response to the excitation signal and the mechanical state of the conductor. The interface is responsive to a downlink signal to transmit an uplink signal representing the electrical state of the input pad. The conductor in the alteration region is adapted to permit external alteration of its mechanical state.

NFL's Stallworth Burned in Hot-Air Balloon Accident in Florida
Stallworth, 33, and Soleil Guerrero, who were taken to theTrauma Center at Kendall Regional Hospital yesterday, arestable with severe burns, attorney Christopher Lyons said in atext message last night.
One of those patients showing promise is Christopher Lyons, finance director for the city of Sarasota. Lyons has been battling with melanoma on and off again since he discovered a lump on the bottom of his left heel in 1993.
The 31-year-old was charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license after failing to pay a traffic ticket. He was later released on $2,000 bail and a judge signed an order allowing him to fly Thursday night to Bangkok, Thailand, to perform several concerts, said his lawyer Christopher Lyons. T
