Abstract:

An electronic storage system includes a substrate with a state region, a transceiver with memory and a controller, and a code circuit disposed over the substrate separate from the transceiver and electrically connected thereto. The code circuit includes a conductor whose electrical or mechanical state can be externally altered. At intervals, the transceiver electrically excites the code circuit and detects the electrical state of an input pad connected to the code circuit. The electrical state corresponds to the excitation and to the electrical or mechanical state of the conductor. The controller stores the detected state or a representation thereof in the memory. In response to a downlink signal, the transceiver transmits an uplink signal representing the stored detected electrical state(s) of the input pad, or the stored representations thereof.

An imaging kiosk comprises an image printer, a frame-specification reader for reading frame-specification information specifying two or more image openings in a picture frame, an image-acquisition device, and a computer system for controlling the image printer, the frame-specification reader, and the image-acquisition device. Images are acquired for rendering a single printable image having the two or more acquired images located in positions corresponding to the two or more image openings, and for printing the rendered image to make a frame-matched multi-image print.

A computer implemented method for making a single rendered printable image corresponding to a picture frame. Two or more digital images are arranged on a print sheet according to machine decodable frame-specification information that specifies where two or more image openings in a picture frame are situated. Abstract:

A method of making an electronic storage system includes receiving a substrate and a circuit template. A transceiver including a transceiver substrate separate from the substrate is disposed over the substrate. The transceiver includes an output electrical-connection pad, and a plurality of input electrical-connection pads. A circuit template is disposed over the substrate so that at least one of the conductors of the circuit template is electrically connected to the output pad and at least one of the conductors of the circuit template is electrically connected to each of the input pads. At least one electrically-conductive strap is printed over the substrate so that each strap electrically connects the output pad to the at least one of the input pads through at least two of the conductors of the circuit template.

The code circuit includes a conductor disposed over the substrate at least partly in the detection region. The conductor has an electrical state that changes in response to an environmental factor. The transceiver is electrically connected to the code circuit so that the transceiver can detect the electrical state of the conductor.
