Jefferson Graduate Fellowship (Darden) Jefferson Scholars Foundation (University of Virginia) - www.jeffersonscholars.org Established in 2001, the Jefferson Fellowship is the premier graduate fellowship offered at the University of Virginia. Based solely on merit, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation and the University of Virginia seek to attract Ph.D., M.B.A., and J.D. candidates who show outstanding achievement and the highest promise as scholars, teachers, public servants, and business leaders in the United States and beyond.
The fundamental mission of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation is to identify, attract, and nurture individuals of extraordinary intellectual range and depth who possess the highest qualities of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship. Raven Society Scholar Raven Society Founded in 1904, The Raven Society is the oldest and most prestigious honorary society at the University of Virginia. It is also unique to the University, taking its name in honor of the most famous poem of the University's most famous poet, Edgar Allan Poe. The Raven Society sponsors scholarships and fellowships in recognition of academic and scholarly excellence. William Michael Shermet Award Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia The William Michael Shermet Award is bestowed upon the student or students who have demonstrated academic excellence in Darden's first-year program and who, by their determination and constructive attitude and service, have provided an example of responsible competitive spirit for their classmates. Darden Faculty Award for Academic Excellence Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia Approved by the faculty in 1980, this award recognizes contributions to the M.B.A. Program of those students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance throughout their entire career at the School. Selection is to be based solely on a student’s cumulative academic performance in the M.B.A. Program. The award is presented to the top 10 percent of the graduating class.
