Abstract:

The present invention relates to genetic markers whose expression is correlated with breast cancer. Specifically, the invention provides sets of markers whose expression patterns can be used to differentiate clinical conditions associated with breast cancer, such as the presence or absence of the estrogen receptor ESR1, and BRCA1 and sporadic tumors, and to provide information on the likelihood of tumor distant metastases within five years of initial diagnosis. The invention relates to methods of using these markers to distinguish these conditions. The invention also provides methods of classifying and treating patients based on prognosis. The invention also relates to kits containing ready-to-use microarrays and computer software for data analysis using the diagnostic, prognostic and statistical methods disclosed herein.

Abstract:

The present invention relates in general to on-line transportation reservation processing and, in particular, to a system and method for identifying and purchasing travel packages on-line. In one embodiment, package components are retrieved by a package server in response to a query from a consumer. A best package component is identified from the retrieved package components. Then a listing of packages matching the best package component is depicted for the consumer with real-time prices to the consumer. In another embodiment of the present invention, real-time prices corresponding to travel packages are related to published fares for package components. The relationship is calculated to maximize the real-time price relative to the price for published fares for the travel components. In still another embodiment of the present invention, travel packages are cross-sold to consumers when they are seeking to purchase a travel component that may be included in a travel package.

Abstract:

The present invention relates to genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae which are essential for germination and proliferation of S. cerevisiae and using the identified genes or their encoded proteins as targets for highly specific antifungal agents, insecticides, herbicides and anti-proliferation drugs. The present invention provides antisense molecules and ribozymes comprising sequences complementary to the sequences of mRNAs of essential genes that function to inhibit the essential genes. The present invention also provides neutralizing antibodies to proteins encoded by essential genes that bind to and inactivate the essential gene products. The present invention further provides pharmaceutical compositions for treating fungal and proliferative diseases, as well as methods of treatment of fungal and proliferative diseases.
