Abstract:

Receiving a notification message by a mobile subscriber can include establishing a session with a notification service; maintaining a persistent communication connection with the notification service after the session is established; subscribing to a node hosted by the notification service, wherein the node is pre-provisioned for use by a mobile subscriber; and receiving from the notification service a notification message corresponding to the subscribed node. Further, a message can be transmitted over the communication connection to the notification service at a predetermined interval and it can be determined whether the communication connection is viable. Additionally, it can be determined that the communication connection is no longer viable if no response is received from the notification service, the period of the predetermined interval can be decreased, and another session with the notification service can be established.

Abstract:

A system includes a server site that includes a memory for storing update data sets that correspond to data sets stored on multiple computing devices of a user. The system also includes a synchronization manager for determining that one computing device associated with the user and another computing device associated with the user are absent one or more data updates stored in the memory at the server site. The synchronization manager is configured to send in parallel, absent establishing a data transfer lock, the one or more data updates to the both computing devices of the user for updating the corresponding data stored on each computing device.

This description relates to methods and systems for providing a connection from a first system to another system using a server. In one embodiment, a method includes establishing at a first data processing system (DPS) a connection with a server providing a service to both the first DPS and a second DPS, the server being operatively coupled to the first DPS and the second DPS, and the server having received from the second DPS an address information; receiving from the server the address information of the second DPS; and establishing at the first DPS a connection, using the address information from the server, with the second DPS to receive a sharing service from the second DPS.

This disclosure relates to methods and systems to allow, in one embodiment, automatic access from one system to other systems which include an operating system that includes a user login process. In one embodiment, a method includes logging into, automatically in response to starting a first data processing system, a second data processing system at least as a guest user of the second data processing system which has a storage volume storing data and displaying a user interface object on a display device of the first data processing system, the user interface object corresponding to at least one of the second data processing system and the storage volume to allow at least one of a search to be performed or a browsing to be performed of the data stored on the storage volume.

This description relates to methods and systems for providing user interfaces on a first system for browsing other systems coupled to the first system. Abstract:

This description relates to methods and systems for providing a connection from a first system to a second system using a server. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a user input to establish a sharing service on a first data processing system (DPS) for a user of a second DPS; determining, in response to the user input, whether the user of the second DPS has an account with a service which includes a server which is capable of being coupled to the first DPS through a network; receiving from the server, if the account exists, authentication data for use in authenticating the user of the second DPS when the sharing service is enabled.
