Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for collection and analysis of dry powder inhaler products to determine foreign particulate matter found therein. The apparatus includes a collection chamber that communicates directly with the mouthpiece of a dry powder inhaler device. The collection chamber is used to both collect product samples, as well as to mix the samples with a diluent that places the active pharmaceutical components and excipients in solution, while the foreign particulate matter remains suspended. Analysis of a sample is preferably conducted by light obscuration wherein a probe is inserted directly within the collection chamber of the apparatus. An integral magnetic stir-bar incorporated within the apparatus eliminates the need to transfer the collected sample to a secondary vessel for mixing or analysis.
Surface With Tunable Emissivity Based On Epsilon-Near-Zero Materials And Patterned Substrates

Abstract:
A device includes a substrate having a pattern of surface features on a surface thereof, and a layer including a material having an Epsilon-Near-Zero (ENZ) condition for a wavelength range. The layer extends on the surface of the substrate and along the pattern of surface features. Related devices and fabrication methods are also discussed.

Abstract:
Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for improving cash management system operation. In one implementation, a method for improving cash management system operation includes detecting an intervention event in connection with user activity of a user involving a cash management system. The method determines whether the intervention event meets an intervention threshold. A customized intervention particular to the intervention event and a the user is generated when the intervention event meets the intervention threshold. The customized intervention is output for presentation to the user. The customized intervention improves the user activity involving the cash management system.
High Mobility Doped Metal Oxide Thin Films And Reactive Physical Vapor Deposition Methods Of Fabricating The Same
- Raleigh NC, US Christopher Shelton - Raleigh NC, US Jon-Paul Maria - Raleigh NC, US Kyle Patrick Kelley - Lake Lure NC, US Evan Lars Runnerstrom - Durham NC, US
A method of forming a metal oxide includes providing a reactive deposition atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of greater than about 20 percent in a chamber including a substrate therein. A pulsed DC signal is applied to a sputtering target comprising a metal, to sputter metal particles therefrom. A doping element may be supplied from a doping source (such as an alloyed metal target) in the reaction chamber. An electrically conductive metal oxide film comprising an oxide of the metal is deposited on the substrate responsive to a reaction between the metal particles and the reactive deposition atmosphere. Related devices are also discussed.
Polaritonic hot electron infrared photodetector that detect infrared radiation. In one implementation, the polaritonic hot electron infrared photodetector includes a first contact layer, a second contact layer, a first dielectric layer, a second dielectric layer, and a conductor layer. The first dielectric layer is coupled between the first contact layer and the second contact layer. The second dielectric layer is coupled between the first dielectric layer and the second contact layer. The conductor layer is coupled between the first dielectric layer and the second dielectric layer. Infrared radiation incident upon the conductor layer is operable to create hot carriers that are injected from a conduction band of the conductor layer to a conduction band of the second contact layer.

Abstract:
Lighting control devices, network systems, and methodologies, including methods for providing closed-loop dimming control of such systems, are described. In some examples, disclosed methods and device configurations may include an intelligent photo control configured to accept target dimmed fixture wattage value commands from a user, and provide closed-loop control at the fixture to achieve that target wattage via real-time adjustment of the 0-10V dimming control signal sent to the LED driver. As such, the need for trial-and-error adjustments of the 0-10V analog control voltage, or derivation of dim voltage to fixture wattage response curves in order to achieve a desired fixture wattage level, may be reduced or eliminated.
