Abstract:

An expandable mechanical stop is provided for positioning a workpiece during woodworking or other operations. The mechanical stop includes a positioning body which is adjustably attached to a track, the track having a vertical face that abuts an edge of the workpiece during operation. A stop arm is connected to the positioning body and includes a rear face that is substantially adjacent to the vertical face of the track. Anti-biasing means are provided to prevent the workpiece from dislodging the stop arm by sliding between the stop arm and the track. In one configuration, tabs are provided on the rear face and are received by grooves on the vertical face to serve as the anti-biasing means. In another configuration, grooves are provided on the rear face and receive tabs disposed on the vertical face.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a precision miter gauge for orienting and positioning a workpiece relative to a cutting tool. The miter gauge reduces positioning errors and improves repeatability. The miter gauge includes a base and a body pivotably connected to the base. A positioning edge of the body contains a plurality of teeth between which a positioning member connected to the base is inserted and locked in place. In this manner, relative movement of the positioning body relative to the base is inhibited.

Abstract:

The present invention discloses a shelf adapter for attachment to a conventional towel rack for use in a bathroom, shower stall, or the like. The present invention comprises a pair of parallel generally horizontal members having a female and male telescoping attachment means mounted onto a pair of leg-like mounts which are fastened around the towel rack so as to be removably, fixedly attached to the towel rack. The purpose of the telescoping members is to allow the shelf to be removably, fixedly attached to towels racks of various sizes wherein the telescoping members can be adjusted to fit towel racks of varying lengths. Furthermore, the parallel members have indentions or cutouts disposed therein which form semi-circular cutouts for receiving bottles or bottle necks of various bottled bath condiments which the user might use. The bottles are mounted upside down into the semi-circular cutouts in order to always have the liquid contained in the bottle disposed near the outlet end of the bottle.

Abstract:

A pre-textured, pre-primed cover for an opening a wall/ceiling which has been finished with a particular known, texture pattern. The cover is molded from a plastic material wherein the surface of the cover has a particular, known texture pattern formed integrally therein. The particular pattern is selected from a group of texture patterns which are well known in the trade. After the cover is molded, a primer is sprayed thereon so that the textured surface will readily accept and retain paint such as that used to paint the wall.

Abstract:

A precision adjustable measuring gauge is provided for increasing the accuracy of workpiece layout, power tool setup and workpiece marking jobs. The measuring gauge has mutually engagable positioning racks to positively lock both a reference surface and a measuring surface rigidly and accurately into place. The gauge includes first and second half section body members which are mounted in facing relationship, and first and second racks formed on their facing surfaces. Each of the first and second racks include index teeth which are equally spaced at predetermined intervals. The displacement of one body member relative to the other body member is adjustable in predetermined increments corresponding to the spaced intervals between successive teeth. The first flat end surface of each body member may be used to engage a reference surface of a workpiece or the work positioning surface of a power tool. The second flat end surface of each body member may be used for indexing the position of a marking tool on the location of a blade or bit relative to the first flat end surface of the opposing body member.

Abstract:

An improved positioning jig which includes two principal relatively flat members adapted for locking and unlocking engagement/disengagement with each other and which are normally urged apart in the unlocked condition by a pair of elongated spring-like members which separate the two principal relatively flat members. Each of the two members includes a mating set of teeth which are adapted for engagement with corresponding teeth on the other member and which permit adjustments in small discrete steps over an extended range. When it is desired to lock the two members together, a bi-directional cam clamp is rotated through about 90 degrees so as to impart a vertical camming force to the upper relatively flat member thereby forcing it downwardly in opposition to the spring bias until teeth of the upper member and those of the lower member are engaged thereby locking the members together in the desired relationship. Also included are improved scalar measuring devices which are adapted for coordination with the aforementioned principal flat members so that in combination they together provide enhanced operational characteristics.
