Abstract:

A variable transmission is described having a transmission mechanism and a phase adjustment mechanism. The transmission mechanism has supports that are movable toward or away from one another to vary the effective size of an effective cog. The phase adjustment mechanism has a differential type gear arrangement that creates a phase change to adjust the transmission mechanism. Another configuration is described which includes a subassembly with a phase adjustment mechanism for adjusting the pitch of propellers. Counter-rotating elements to control relative gear phase or pitch are provided externally, internally, distally or proximally relative to the source of mechanical torque in various configurations.

A multiple use shelf, for holding, storing, and displaying merchandise, comprising, a first shelf element having a flat portion and a plurality of finger elements. The finger elements being integral with the flat portion of the shelf. The first shelf element is configured and has fastening protrusions for engagement with a support element. A second shelf element, includes a flat portion and a plurality of finger elements. The finger elements being integral with the flat portion and are configured to hingedly join with the finger elements of the first shelf element. Abstract:

The column has ceiling mounted gas and electrical conduits leading into a top portion of the column through a pipe. A double articulating arm permits moving of the column on a base supported by wheels through 340. degree. around the bed of a patient. A brake in the base prevents inadvertent movement of the column. A support arm mounted on the pipe below the double articulating arm supports a patient monitor. Front and rear vertical columns joined by horizontal members provide open access to patient service equipment including gas couplers and electrical outlets.
