Abstract:
A system for attaching an article to a roof having shingles disposed on top of a structural member includes a flashing member which is rotatably connected to a stanchion. The flashing member includes a sheet of flashing which is slid up under one or more shingles. A hole is drilled through the shingles and into the structural member. The stanchion is then bolted to the structural member.
Method For Installing A Stanchion On A Tile Roof And System Therefor
A method and apparatus for installing a stanchion on a tile roof includes a tile which has an aperture and a stanchion which fits through the aperture. An existing roof tile is removed and the stanchion is connected to the roof sheathing at the place of removal. The tile is then placed over the stanchion so that the stanchion project through the aperture. In an embodiment of the invention, a sleeve surrounds the aperture and a seal provides a weather proof seal between the stanchion and the sleeve.

Clamp For Connecting Two Elongated Members And Method Of Use
A clamp for perpendicularly connecting two elongated members includes first and second interchangeable half clamps. The half clamps are placed in opposing relationship and tightened around the perpendicular junction of the two elongated members. In one embodiment, the clamp is designed to connect a beam (such as an I-beam) to a ridge (such as that found on a standing seam roof). In another embodiment the clamp is designed to connect two beams together.
Locking Device For Male/Female Electrical Cable Connectors

International Classification:
H02G003/06
US Classification:
174/092000
Abstract:
A simple and inexpensive locking device used to secure the electrical connections between the male and female electrical connectors of a typical photovoltaic module. The cover secures high voltage connections from potential access by unqualified personnel. This locking device holds the electrical connection together over time ensuring that expansion and contraction will not negatively impact the electrical connection. The locking device is such that one half lock, when turned over and reversed, mates with the same identical shape, completing one unit. It is intended to be installed quickly and easily in both difficult and typical locations by hand, with hand pressure only. A standard electrical industry tool is needed to open the lock and access the underlying electrical cable, as required in high voltage applications. End barriers on the locking device secure the electrical cable from accidental or intentional separation by hand.

Abstract:
A mount for connecting an article to a roof includes a flange which is connectable to the roof and a post which is received by the flange. In an embodiment, the post and flange cooperate with a bolt which holds the two together. In another embodiment, the post includes an elongated chamber through which an electrical wire can be routed.
Rackless Height Adjustable Mount For Attaching An Article To A Roof
Stuart H. Wentworth - Alamo CA, US Claudia H. Wentworth - Alamo CA, US
International Classification:
F16M 13/02
US Classification:
248237
Abstract:
The present application presents a height adjustable mount for attaching an article to a roof. This mount improves upon existing mounts by allowing a user to easily and repeatedly choose one of a plurality of discrete heights between a roof and the article to be mounted. The heights may be independently selected, thereby allowing adjustability to compensate for the uneven nature of many roofs.
