ILO puts child labourers at about 11 million worldwide
Commenting on the new report, ILO Director of International Programme, Constance Thomas, noted in a statement made available to The Guardian yesterday that, domestic workers of all ages are increasingly performing a vital task in many economies.
Constance Thomas, director of the ILO International Program on the Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC), told a press conference that those were a significant group and the situation of their vulnerability did deserve special attention.
"We need a robust legal framework to clearly identify, prevent and eliminate child labour in domestic work, and to provide decent working conditions to adolescents when they can legally work," said Constance Thomas from the ILO.
