Abstract:

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a system and method for prequeuing of files predicted to be desired by a user, through a telecommunications link, into a local cache, based on a list, wherein the prequeuing system is responsive to any change in file sequence of user review, such that predicted latencies for sequential file review from any given starting point are minimized. A system and method for reducing latency in a sequential record browser are provided, for defining a sequential list of records; selecting a record from the list for review; downloading the selected record, and records sequentially thereafter until interrupted; interrupting the downloading by electing a non-sequential record; and downloading the a non-sequential record and records sequentially thereafter until interrupted.

Abstract:

A system and method for presenting document records to a user through a display interface is described. Data of a first type is processed through a first applet, and data of a second type is processed through a second applet. Data of the first and second types is extracted separately using the first and second applets. A user interface provides means for selecting a data file from a plurality of data files. The merged and formatted processed first and second data is displayed. A plurality of data files are managed with a host application. In an aspect, a data file includes data of the first and second types. The data file includes an index portion in a header pointing to the first data type, and the second data type resides between the header and the first data type, having an end of file marker at a terminus thereof.

Abstract:

Network address requests from candidate nodes are directed to a quarantined server rather than a network address server. The candidate node is admitted to a virtual network, enabling the candidate node to access only limited resources of the network and minimizing security risks to the network. The quarantined server determines whether the candidate node complies with a set of security criteria. If the candidate node conforms to the set of criteria, when a second request for a network address is sent by the candidate node, the second request is received by the quarantined server and relayed to the network address server. Thereafter, the network address server will issue a network address to the candidate node, enabling the candidate node to access at least a portion of the full resources of the network. If the candidate node does not comply with the security criteria and cannot be remediated, the network address server will not issue a network address to the candidate node.
