Red Bull Creation Competition Winner
Red Bull
72- hour marathon building contest called the Red Bull Creation. The team creativity competition brought together 16 teams from around the US to challenge their fabricating skills to build something useful, imaginative and inspiring based on the theme of Energy in Motion, which wasn’t announced until the start of the event. Teams could bring 200 pounds of anything they thought would be helpful to create “something.” Red Bull provided a quasi-junk yard for members to scavenge for supplies, and members could scour the city for more materials. Teams set up work areas on the contest site and had access to a shared fabrication workshop, a full metal work shop, a welding area with computer controlled welders and plasma cutters, and a soldering station for electronics work and several laser cutting machines. The winning team would receive a $5,000 cash prize and 4 Full Spectrum Lasers worth $10,000.
