                                    Twelve years of guitar playing experience, playing and performing in a wide variety of genres, including classical guitar, rock, heavy metal, jazz, fusion, blues, soul, pop, klezmer, and avant garde styles I compose solo and band oriented guitar music and have a couple of albums of original music in the works. I also have an EP of John Zorn pieces that I arranged for two guitars I take a huge amount of pride in my ability to communicate with people, and approach every personal interaction with friendliness and respect. Being a musician, I always put paramount importance on the ability to listen to others. I have taken a large variety of undergraduate and graduate courses pertaining to a wide variety of subjects that I feel would increase my versatility, such as advanced courses in writing, bibliographic annotating, research, literature, history, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and philosophy I have participated in many high profile performances in and outside of school, including classical chamber performances, small jazz combo performances, and jazz big band performances, two one hour solo classical guitar recitals for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and sideman gigs for record releases. I enjoy relating my experiences to the teaching of performance practice and coach performers in the control of any stress or nervousness associated with the performance stage. I have performed in professional pit bands for musicals, including Man of La Mancha, Little Shop of Horrors, and Spring Awakening
