Abstract:

A method for assembling a gas turbine engine that includes providing a first fan assembly configured to rotate in a first rotational direction, rotatably coupling a second fan assembly to the first fan assembly, wherein the second fan assembly is configured to rotate in a second rotational direction that is opposite the first rotational direction, coupling a first shaft to the first fan assembly and to a first turbine rotor that is configured to rotate in a first rotational direction, coupling a second shaft coupled to the second fan assembly and to a second turbine rotor that is configured to rotate in a second rotational direction that is opposite the first rotational direction, and coupling a lubrication system to the gas turbine engine such that a lubrication fluid is channeled through the first shaft to lubricate at least one of the first and second fan assemblies.

Abstract:

A quick connect/disconnect coupling comprises locking levers. Pull rings facilitate pivoting of the locking levels to a release position. The pull rings are resiliently mounted on the levers in positions that prevent the pulls rings from interfering with movement of the locking levers to their locking positions.

Abstract:

A coupling for connecting fluid conduits comprises a coupler and an adapter. The coupler has a frusto-conical seat at its distal end. Fixed and pivotal jaws project beyond the frusto-conical seat and are engageable with a clamping surface on the adapter. A lever operated, cam member swings the pivotal jaw to a position in which the coupler is locked in sealed relation on the adapter. An interlock rod prevents rotation of the lever from this rest position unless the coupler is positioned to be locked on the adapter. The coupler and adapter each comprise normally closed poppet valves. When the operating lever is swung from its rest position to a ready position, the pivotal jaw is swung to its locking position. When the operating letter is swung to a further angular extent, to a full flow position, the coupler poppet is displaced outwardly by a crank/link mechanism. When the coupler poppet is so displaced, it engages the adapter poppet and positions both poppets in open positions, interiorly of an adapter housing passageway.

A low profile locking mechanism for securing a lever arm of a coupler in a locked position interlocks with the side surface of the lever arm. The locking mechanism is formed from low cost resiliently deformable material that is protected against impact by the lever arm.

Abstract:

This disclosure relates to a camp shoe that is similar in most aspects to a typical shoe. However, to make it easy to pack and tote in a knapsack, for example, this shoe has construction features that permit it to be folded flat to conform with sole of the shoe and, therefore, be easily tucked in and toted in luggage where spare space is typically at a premium. The construction features include a rigid heel counter; a heel support flexibly attached to said heel counter; a pair of upper ankle supports flexibly attached to said heel support; and a pair of lower ankle supports flexibly attached to said upper ankle supports and said heel counter.
