Abstract:

The embodiments described herein generally relate to new and alternate systems and methods to associate XBRL tags with financial data. A business user creates a design template that can be used one or more times to create an instance of an XBRL document. A user can select a user interface element to have a system automatically map the XBRL taxonomy tags with portions of financial information. Upon selecting the user interface element, the system determines the best matches for the financial information and the XBRL taxonomy. The matches are recorded or stored in the design template.

Abstract:

An automated system and method for philanthropists to gain access to projects and organizations of interest and, if desired, for projects and organizations to gain access to philanthropists or philanthropic or other funding. The system is remotely accessible so that donor, organization and project managers or team members, and others can gain access to the system from disparate locations, such as through an intranet or the Internet. The system provides tools for organizations to manage information about themselves and projects with which they are connected or in which they are interested. It also provides tools for donor users to manage information about themselves and entities in which they have donated or that they are monitoring, and tools to find an associate themselves with those and other entities. The system provides security features and provides a topology that limits outside access to underlying system data and data facilities. The system is also structured to allow limited access to the public in general in order to promote the system and its use. The system facilitates methods of use that can provide methods of revenue generation for access to or use of the system or methods of use of the system.

Abstract:

Architecture that translates a complex dimensional hierarchy (e.g., XBRL) into an understandable member picker which removes the complexities that the user would otherwise have to face. Using a building block metaphor, the architecture provides element and dimension tagging. The building blocks can include rows, columns, and optional trees. Building blocks are selected and grouped into a report definition, which definition is utilized to retrieve and process basis data into fact data in the final reports. The reporter mechanism removes the complexities in both the XBRL standard and XML, and ensures that the user associates the information appropriately within the report definition. The architecture extends the building block metaphor to include dimension tagging. A portion of the information from each building block is used to produce a fully qualified dimension context and logical validation is performed to ensure accuracy.
