Abstract:

A flushometer for use with urinals or water closets includes a hollow valve body having an inlet, an outlet, and a valve seat therebetween. There is a piston or diaphragm movable in the hollow valve body to a closing position on the valve seat to control flow through the valve. A pressure chamber is above the piston or diaphragm for holding it on the valve seat. The piston or diaphragm includes a plurality of bypass orifices to connect the inlet with the pressure chamber to provide fluid to move the piston or diaphragm to the closing position.

Abstract:

A fantasy simulation allows participants to challenge each other by comparing the performance of one participant's reality-based selection to another participant's reality-based selection. The simulation also allows participants to wager a limited or unlimited amount of simulated funds on the outcome of the challenge. Participants challenge other, individual participants or groups of participants while the simulation measures a reality-based metric associated with all challenge participants' reality-based selection over a period of time. At the conclusion of the period of time, a challenge winner is determined from the change of the metric.

Abstract:

A battery-powered, sensor-operated flush valve for controlling water flow through a toilet room device such as a urinal or water closet includes a flush valve body with an inlet and an outlet. There is a valve mechanism for controlling flow through the flush valve body. A solenoid is attached to the flush valve body and has a piston which is positioned to contact the valve mechanism relief valve. The solenoid is in circuit with a battery and a sensor whereby a user of toilet room device will cause battery power to be applied to the solenoid coil, which will in turn move the piston to contact the relief valve to institute a flushing operation.

Abstract:

A flush valve includes a body with an inlet and an outlet and a valve seat at the outlet. There is a valve movable in the body toward and away from the valve seat to control flow through the flush valve. There is a chamber in the body above the valve and there is a refill orifice in the valve connecting the chamber with said body inlet. Pressure in the chamber maintains the valve closed upon its valve seat, with the size of the refill orifice controlling the time to fill the chamber from the inlet which determines the time of flow of water from the inlet through the outlet. There is a relief valve for venting the chamber to the outlet when the relief valve is open, thereby causing the valve to move away from its seat permitting flow from the inlet through the outlet. There is a cover threadedly attached to the body and a seal element formed from an elastomeric material positioned between the cover and the body. The seal element has a surface finish with sufficient lubricity such that the cover will slide upon its surface when the cover is threadedly attached to the body.
