Abstract:

A portable game set comprising a game board constructed out of corrugated paper board having indicia thereon representing a game board and having slits on each position for receiving a game piece. The game pieces are rectangular and made of a transparent material so that the indicia indicating the game pieces is visible on both sides of the board. The corrugated paper board applies a large amount of pressure on the portion of the game pieces and has a highly frictional surface to securely retain the game pieces within the slits. The corrugated paper board rigidly holds the game pieces in the slits allowing the game to be played during a windy day or in turbulence. When the game pieces are inserted into the slits the game pieces vertically extend approximately 90 degrees with respect to the board thereby providing an improved appearance.

Abstract:

A method and device for determining the secondary attributes of a symbol by chance comprising a holder having a partition, relatively short magnets, and an elongated magnet. The relatively short magnets have a smaller length than the elongated magnet. The I-Ching is consulted by placing two relatively short magnets in a random position on a first compartment of the holder and the elongated magnet is retained on a retaining surface in the second compartment of the holder. The sides of each of the relatively short magnets adjacent the elongated magnet and the sides of each of the relatively short magnets adjacent each other form three pairs of interacting magnetic poles. The user assigns a predetermined state to each of the eight magnetic interactions, records the state represented by the magnetic interaction, and repeats these steps until one or more I-Ching hexagrams are constructed.

Abstract:

In one aspect, the present invention comprises a method and system for creating images that disappear when exposed to light. The method and system are suitable for commercial printing. In another aspect, the invention comprises a printed image that disappears when exposed to light. In yet another aspect, the image reappears when removed from exposure to light, permitting reuse. In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a item for amusement, preferably a collectible card, bearing an image that disappears when exposed to light and reappears thereafter when removed from exposure to light. In one preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an image, the image comprising a first image portion and a second image portion, the first image portion and second image portion being substantially visibly distinct before exposure to light by an end user, and the first image portion and second image portion being substantially visibly indistinguishable after exposure to light by the end user.

Abstract:

A self-storing toy kit having a container that serves as the main body of the toy and adorning inserts that are secured to the main body. The main body has a plurality of walls that define an interior storage compartment for holding the adorning inserts. The walls have narrow slits on its exterior surface for receiving adorning inserts. The adorning inserts are dimensioned to fit tightly within the slits of the main body to ensure secure retention of the adorning inserts. The adorning inserts have a distal end that is resilient and a body that is flexible to allow the adorning inserts to cantilever from the slits. The main body has closing means for the interior storage compartment. The compartment allows for storage of the adorning inserts within the main body and eliminates the need for a separate carrying case for the adorning inserts.

A liquid slurry of submicron particles of hexabromobenzene is prepared by vaporizing hexabromobenzene in a first zone, transporting the vapors to a second zone by use of an inert carrier gas, condensing the vapors in a second zone so as to form a liquid slurry, and thereafter recovering the slurry formed. The product particles are particularly effective when used as a fire retardant in an acrylic fiber having high luster requirements.
