Abstract:

A pump inlet screen for a submersible pump adapted to be inserted into a well bore. The screen includes an inner support sleeve having openings therethrough and an outer mesh screen member that overlies the out surface of the inner support sleeve. A polymer coated reinforcing ring is secured to one end of the screen and includes spaced, radially-extending threaded openings for receiving set screws to permit securement of the inlet screen to the outer surface of a cylindrical housing. The opposite end of the inlet screen from the reinforcing ring includes a sealing ring having an inwardly-extending, sloping lip seal to engage the outer surface of a cylindrical housing.

Abstract:

A water reinjection arrangement for a coal bed methane well to minimize water disposal problems at the well surface. Water is withdrawn by a motor driven pump from an upper coal seam through openings in the upper portion of the well casing. A flow reversing head is provided within the well casing and into which the withdrawn water is directed. The water flow direction is reversed by about 180 and is conveyed within the well casing through tubular conduits to a downstream flow collector and into a downflow pipe, to be injected into a lower seam through openings in a lower portion of the well casing wall. A sealing arrangement is provided within the well casing to seal off the upper coal seam from the lower seam.

Abstract:

A magnetic-latch stabbing guide apparatus is presented enabling a first drill pipe to connect with a second drill pipe. The magnetic-latch stabbing guide easily attached to the first drill pipe and facilitates connection between the first drill pipe and the second drill pipe. During the connection process, the magnetic-latch stabbing guide easily detaches from the two drill pipes without physical manipulation of the magnetic-latch stabbing guide.
