Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for resolving demand and supply imbalances. The method comprises identifying at least one excess component inventory liability or constraint in supply capability for an end product by matching current buying patterns for the end product against inventory liability and supply capability based on a previous demand forecast. Where excess component inventory liability exists the method refocuses the excess component inventory liability by determining alternative end products that use components identified in the excess component inventory liability; and executes sales activities for enticing sales of the alternative end products. Where constrained supply capability exists, the method determines alternative end products that are functionally equivalent to those identified in the constrained supply capability; and executes sales activities for enticing sales of functionally equivalent alternative end products.

A method, system, and storage medium for assessing and implementing an organizational transformation. The method includes identifying at least one process area for each management area targeted for assessment and evaluating at least one solution for the at least one process area. A pairing of a solution to a process area results in a functional area. The method further includes performing orthogonal assessments for each functional area. The orthogonal assessments include determining a need for organizational transformation by ranking each of the functional areas according to a perceived need for organizational transformation, evaluating each of the at least one process area against each of the at least one corresponding solution and calculating any performance gaps identified based upon the evaluating, and evaluating an implementation capability for each of the at least one solution. The method also includes presenting results of each of the orthogonal assessments.

A customer propensity is determined to estimate attractiveness of a substitute product to a customer based on one or more attributes. A seller propensity is determined to estimate attractiveness to a seller of selling the substitute product based on one or more attributes. The customer propensity and the seller propensity are combined to find a plurality of substitute products.

Abstract:
Methods, systems and program products for providing real-time sales recommendations. A user selects a sales offering, and then batch or real-time data feeds of currently available sales offering pricing, availability, performance and data-mined analytics information are transmitted to a real-time data interface. The real-time data interface generates real-time sales recommendations based on the selected sales offering and data feeds. These real-time sales recommendations are determined by defining four distinct sell spaces that include an up-sell space, a down-sell space, and first and second alternative-sell spaces, whereby the real-time sales recommendations include up-sell, down-sell and alternative-sell recommendations. Business rules are used to determine which of the four distinct sell spaces these real-time sales recommendations will occupy. The real-time sales recommendations are continually refreshed and updated, and as such, may be tailored to a user's wants and needs.
