A telephone system for providing a telephony feature includes a phone system controller and a first telephone system interface. The first telephone system interface is coupled between a first telephone handset and a telephone line. Moreover, the first telephone system interface is operable to selectively couple the first telephone handset to the telephone line. The first telephone system interface is also operable to establish a first wireless control channel to the phone system controller. The wireless control channel is operable to carry control signals associated with the telephony feature between the first telephone system interface and the phone system controller. The phone system controller is operable to (i) receive the first control signals via the wireless control channel, and (ii) process the first control signals to provide the telephony feature to the telephone handset.

Abstract:
An electronic circuit board electrically connected to other circuits of a data processing system by means of a bus, may be removed and re-inserted in the system without the necessity of disabling other circuits connected to the bus. A latch actuated switch provides a control signal in anticipation of circuit board removal. The control signal activates a finite state machine which seizes control of the bus after completion of any current bus communications and stops the generation of clock pulses normally required in bus communications. When contact is physically broken between the board and its corresponding connector, the finite state machine restores the bus clock pulses and relinquishes control of the bus. When a board is to be inserted in an open connector, contact between the board and the connector is sensed by the finite state machine which causes the bus to be seized and the bus clock pulses to be temporarily inhibited. When the board is fully inserted, the finite state machine restores the bus clock pulses and relinquishes control of the bus.
Mechanism For Providing Wireless Audio And Control Channels For Personal Computer Interactive Phone (Pcip) System
An interface circuit provides a wireless channel and a line channel to a telephone set. The wireless channel is coupled to a controller (e. g. a PC) and to another telephone set, and the line channel is coupled to a telephone network. A switch circuit connects the telephone set to the wireless channel to transmit a signal between the telephone set and the controller (or another telephone set). The switch circuit connects the telephone set to the line channel to transmit a signal between the telephone set and the telephone network.

Abstract:
A circuit is disclosed for charging an input filter capacitance from a source of potential before a protective circuit, e. g. , a fuse, is established between the source of potential and the capacitance. If the charging circuit is connected between the potential source and the substantially discharged capacitance, a small charging current will flow through a current limiting resistance. This small current will partially charge the capacitance if no faults are present. A threshold detector circuit monitors the voltage on the capacitance and for a voltage of approximately three volts or more, in the case of a twenty-four volt potential source, activates a charging transistor. The charging transistor is controlled by feedback circuitry to provide a larger but limited charging current to complete the charging to within approximately one volt of the potential of the source of potential.
Multiprocessor Interconnection And Access Arbitration Arrangement
In a multiprocessor system (FIG. 1), the processors (10-12) are interconnected by a non-blocking communication medium such as a crossbar switch (19). Each processor is connected to a dedicated port circuit (18) at the switch by an optical link (16). Each port circuit is connected to the crossbar switch by an electrical link (20). The port circuits are interconnected by a contention medium (14). A port circuit sends an access request by its connected processor to the destination processor over the contention medium. Circuitry (205) at each port circuit receives requests, for access to the connected processor, prioritizes conflicting requests, and grants them sequentially. The circuitry interleaves grants of access to the connected processor with grants of outgoing access requests made by the connected processor. The circuitry grants an access request by causing the crossbar switch to establish the corresponding connection.

Abstract:
An integrated computer-telephone system includes a personal computer and a plurality of telephone sets. Each of the telephone sets is coupled to multiple telephone lines via respective adapters. By activating a line button on an adapter, a respective telephone will be connected to a selected line to answer or place a call on the selected line. The integrated computer-telephone system enables the multiple telephone line access by using existing standard telephone sets in a house hold. The integrated computer-telephone system is able to control the access to the multiple telephone lines according to their operational status and to preventing the telephone sets at other extensions from being connected to a telephone line when a call is in progress on the telephone line.
