Abstract:

A method of obtaining purified semiconducting SWCNTs from a bulk mixture of metallic SWCNTs and semiconducting SWCNTs by first creating an aqueous solution containing the bulk mixture and adding a functionalized particle or nanoparticle to the solution, whereby the functionalized particle or nanoparticle reacts chemically with the metallic SWCNTs to form a high density particle-nanotube composite that can be physically separated by centrifugation.

Abstract:

A coating process comprises forming a patterned material layer on a substrate using a self-segregating polymeric composition comprising a polymeric photoresistive material and an antireflective coating material contained in a single solution. When depositing this solution on a substrate and removing the solvent, the two materials self-segregate into two layers. This produces a coated substrate having a uniaxial bilayer coating oriented in a direction orthogonal to the substrate with a top photoresistive coating layer and a bottom antireflective coating layer. Pattern-wise exposing the coated substrate to imaging radiation and contacting the coated substrate with a developer, produces the patterned material layer. Any optional top coat material and a portion of the photoresist layer can be simultaneously removed from the coated substrate to form a patterned photoresist layer on the substrate.

Abstract:

Systems, apparatuses, devices, kits and processes are provided to enhance bone implants. The bone implant includes one or more bone attachment components for securing the implant into a bone and a head component independent of and separable from the bone attachment components. In one embodiment, each bone attachment component includes an internally threaded bore hole sleeve for receiving a connector component. The head component preferably is adapted so as to be secured to the one or more bone attachment components at the time of initial implantation of the one or more bone attachment components and the head component into the bone. The head component preferably is adapted to be oriented relative to at least one of the one or more bone attachment components at a predetermined tilt angle, so that the implant generally conforms with a natural root structure of a missing tooth.
