Abstract:

Silicone-containing light fixture optics. A method for manufacturing an optical component may include mixing two precursors of silicone, opening a first gate of an optic forming device, moving the silicone mixture from the extrusion machine into the optic forming device, cooling the silicone mixture as it enters the optic forming device, filling a mold within the optic forming device with the silicone mixture, closing the first gate, and heating the silicone mixture in the mold to at least partially cure the silicone. Alternatively, a method for manufacturing an optical component may include depositing a layer of heat cured silicone optical material to an optical structure, arranging one or more at least partially cured silicone optics on the layer of heat cured silicone optical material, and heating the heat cured silicone optical material to permanently adhere the one or more at least partially cured silicone optics to the optical structure.

Abstract:

A light fixture includes a flexible shroud, an outer housing, and a light source within a light engine. The light engine couples within the outer housing so as to define a gap between the light engine and an inner perimeter of the outer housing. The flexible shroud forms at least first and second edge portions. The light engine couples with the first edge portion, and the inner perimeter of the outer housing couples with the second edge portion, so that the flexible shroud covers at least part of the gap. A shroud for a light fixture may include a flexible shroud that defines one or more edges. The shroud may include one or more coupling features along the one or more edges. The flexible shroud may form a thickness variation at the coupling feature, to engage a corresponding coupling feature of a light fixture.

Disclosed is an example of a system for selectively influencing the circadian system of a human being, or other human stimulus factor, while simultaneously making minimal shifts to a specified operational parameter of the light source, such as correlated color temperature (CCT), color rendering index, look on a fixture, net lumen output, or a power consumption requirement. Abstract:

Devices, systems, and methods for ambulatory monitoring for suspected bradycardia or prolonged QT interval with simultaneous external pacing capability is provided. The device monitors the patient for a bradycardic episode and/or prolongation of the QT interval. The device provides a monitor having sensing, pacing, recording and transmission capabilities. At least two pacing electrodes are provided with adhesive backing for application to the anterior chest region with one cathode to the region of the cardiac apex and an anode to the region of the right upper sternal cardiac border. If a bradycardic or tachycardia episode is detected or prolongation of the QT is sufficient, then pacemaking energy is provided to the electrodes allowing the patient time to seek medical care without suffering the results of temporary hemodynamic instability that might otherwise be associated with dysrhythmia. The device also senses when the electrodes are no longer in contact with the patient's body.

Abstract:

A system allows a light fixture to have a wider range of color temperatures (CCT) while limiting the warmest temperature reached at full intensity. The CCT of the light output may be controlled independently of intensity across a certain range of CCT and dependent on intensity across another range. In an implementation, both intensity and CCT may be adjusted from a single handle, where the interface positions may be divided into multiple zones. In another implementation, intensity may be adjusted from a first handle, while CCT may be adjusted from a second handle. The CCT of the light output may be limited to cooler levels when the intensity is higher, and/or the intensity of the light may be limited to lower levels when the CCT is warmer.
