The John Havlis Scholarship Fund was established by the Class of 1983 to honor their classmate after his untimely death in 1992. This award, a complete set of the North Dakota Century Code, shall be presented annually to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a present intention to maintain a rural practice within the State of North Dakota, who demonstrates a high moral character and potential to succeed within the law profession, and who is actively involved in the community, with a particular emphasis on social concerns. Consideration shall be given to scholastic achievement and financial need, but these shall not be over-riding criteria. Criteria: Graduated Third year student, commitment to a rural practice, demonstrates a high moral character and potential to succeed within the law profession, actively involved in the community, with a particular emphasis on social concerns.

"Nontraditional Student Recognition Week” is a national celebration held in the first week of November each year by ANTSHE, Association of Nontraditional Students in Higher Education. In celebration, the Student Success Center and Adult Re-entry program would like to recognize the support many campus departments provide and celebrate nontraditional student success.
