Abstract:

Video, voice and data are integrated using existing telephone connections by using a video network server to receive and transmit video signals to and from clients using telephone wires. Client frequency division multiplexing couplers, each associated with one of the clients, receive video and telephone signals from the client and frequency multiplex them onto the telephone wires for transmission. They also receive video signals from the server and frequency demultiplex them for transmission to the client. A video frequency division multiplexing coupler connected between the video network server and each of the client frequency division multiplexing couplers receive the video and telephone signals from the clients and transmit only the video signals to the video network server. A telephone frequency division multiplexing coupler connected between a telephone network switch and each of the client frequency division multiplexing couplers receive the video and telephone signals from the clients and transmit only the telephone signals to the telephone network switch.

Abstract:

Embodiments of a network-enabled mass storage dongle with networked media content aggregation are discussed. Embodiments provide for a dongle in a consumption mode is inserted into one or more source devices, where the one or more source devices are part of a network and store content to be aggregated for accessing on equipment. In embodiments the equipment has no intrinsic networking capabilities. The dongle allows a user to select one or more directory structures on each of the one or more source devices to be included in the aggregated content. The dongle then creates a file share for each of the selected directory structures. The dongle in an aggregation mode is inserted into the equipment and automatically connects to the network. The dongle aggregates content in the created file shares to present the aggregated content as a single mass storage device to the equipment. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract:

A speech recognition system includes a transducer placed in direct physical contact with the user. When the user speaks, the transducer receives the speech signal from the user based on its contact with the user instead of receiving the speech signal through free air. The transducer generates an analog electrical audio signal corresponding to the speech signal. The analog electrical audio signal is then converted to a digital audio signal and transmitted to a speech recognition engine using a wireless connection. By placing the transducer in direct physical contact with the user, ambient noise in the free air may be reduced and speech recognition accuracy may be improved.
