Abstract:

A step for a large pickup truck has a tubular extension member having a square cross section. The extension member is sized to fit within the tubular end of a receiver type hitch. A stepping platform is attached to the top of the extension member. The extension member extends from the side of the receiver type hitch a sufficient distance to function as a step to the tailgate or bed of the truck. A ring on the extension member prevents it from being inserted too far into the hitch. A chain connected to the ring is attachable to the hitch to prevent the accidental removal of the step. The chain and ring can be positioned to allow the step to be moved between extended and non-extended positions.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method for protecting probes used in automated testing is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a probe operable to provide power to a device under test (DUT) from a device power source (DPS), wherein the probe is coupled to a contact point on the DUT and a probe protector circuit connected to the probe in series between the DPS and the DUT. The probe protector circuit further comprises a current sense module operable to monitor a flow of current from the DPS to the DUT to determine if the current flow is below a predetermined threshold current level and a switch for controlling the connection from the DPS to the DUT. The switch is coupled to the current sense module and is operable to be used in conjunction with the current sense module to limit the current flow if it exceeds the predetermined threshold current level.

Abstract:

A performance monitor for use with marine radars which produces a visual indication upon the radar display screen only when the radar transmitter power, and the radar receiver sensitivity and tuning are within predetermined limits. An RF sample of the radar transmitted signal is mixed with a local oscillator signal and the resulting IF signal is coupled to an AFC loop which controls the frequency of the local oscillator. If the amplitude of the radar transmitted signal is above a threshold level, a single frequency response signal of fixed power is generated by the performance monitor and transmitted back to the radar antenna. A distinctive test pattern is produced upon the radar display if the radar receiver tuning is accurate and its sensitivity is sufficiently high.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method are provided for testing component tolerances of a device for testing integrated circuits. The testing device is generally characterized by a plurality of test connectors disposed at a test head, wherein each test connector carries electrical signals for a test channel. Further, each test channel generally corresponds to a circuit board that includes at least one driver and one receiver. In this general type of tester, a system is provided that includes a specialized DUT board that establishes a low impedance electrical connection (i. e. , short) between electrical conductors of a first and second test connector. Through this low impedance path, a first driver from a first circuit board is directly connected (i. e. , shorted) to a first receiver on a second circuit board. A controller is configured to control the first driver to output an electrical signal at a predetermined time.

Abstract:

A radar performance monitor (RPM) receives a transmitted radar signal from a radar system being monitored and couples the signal to a recirculating loop comprising a SAW delay line in order to produce a series of simulated radar return signals of equal amplitude and by using the same frequency as the received radar signal providing the frequency falls within a predetermined bandwidth of the SAW delay line. The simulated radar return signals are displayed at the radar system and used to evaluate the operation and calibration of a transmitter and the sensitivity and calibration of a transmitter and the sensitivity and calibration of a receiver in the radar system. The radar performance monitor is actuated at the option of a radar operator.
