Abstract:
A bun slicing device includes a conveyor belt for conveying buns over a table. At least a portion of the table provides a suction, which draws air through the buns. The buns are sliced while over the suction portion, so that air is passing through the buns as they are sliced. The suction holds the buns to the table and also holds the resulting bun sections together, such that the sections do not separate during slicing.

Abstract:
Techniques are provided for use with an implantable cardiac stimulation device equipped with a multi-pole left ventricular (LV) lead and a right ventricular (RV) lead for identifying suitable pacing vectors. In one example, RV-LV delay times are measured while using different electrodes of the LV lead as cathodes for sensing. The LV electrode having the longest RV-LV delay time is identified and LV capture thresholds and diaphragmatic stimulation thresholds are measured for pacing vectors that employ that LV electrode as a cathode. Assuming at least one vector employing the selected LV electrode is found to have acceptable thresholds, the vector is selected for use in delivering pacing therapy with the selected LV electrode. If none of the pacing vectors employing the selected LV electrode has acceptable thresholds, another LV electrode is selected and the procedure is repeated. Examples with a multi-pole RV lead are also described.

Abstract:
An apparatus for dispensing and agitating objects to be treated in a liquid is described in terms of the use of the apparatus in the processing of potato chips in cooking oil. The apparatus comprises an automated kettle rake (100) for use in the processing of potato chips or other objects (101) in a kettle (102) filled with cooking oil or other desired liquid (103), involving an agitation manifold (104) movably mounted above the kettle (102) and a dispersal manifold (106) positioned inside the kettle (102). The agitation manifold (104) disperses the chips or other objects by injecting fluid through at least one nozzle onto the liquid in the kettle (102) while passing over the length of the kettle (102). Optionally, the cooked chips or other objects may be swept onto a removal conveyor (110) after processing is completed.
