Abstract:
A metering module for use in a power circuit monitoring system including a circuit monitor having a processor for processing data related to power signals, said metering module comprising at least one sensor for sensing a predetermined property of a power signal and for producing a corresponding sensor signal, and a modular metering circuit for producing data corresponding to said sensor signal for input into said circuit monitor, wherein said metering module is selectively detachable and replaceable relative to said circuit monitor to permit one or more of testing, calibration and repair of said metering module thereby minimizing any interruption in operation of said circuit monitor.
Time Reference Compensation For Improved Metering Accuracy
A method for time reference compensation in a power metering system, the method comprising monitoring a time-dependent characteristic of incoming AC power over a predetermined local time interval, comparing the monitored characteristic over the predetermined local time interval with the expected value of the characteristic based upon the nominal frequency of the AC power, and calculating a correction to one or more of local real-time and time-based measurements of the power metering system, based on the comparing.

Abstract:
A method for using signals measured by pressure responsive seismic sensors and motion responsive seismic sensors disposed in a seismic cable includes simulating a selected range frequency response of the motion responsive sensor signals for each of a plurality of selected depths in a body of water. For each sensor position along the streamer, the one of the simulated selected frequency range responses is selected for which the selected depth most closely matches an actual sensor depth. The selected simulated selected range frequency responses are combined with the measured motion responsive sensor signals to produce full bandwidth motion responsive signals. The full bandwidth signals are combined with the pressure responsive signals to determine at least one of an upgoing and downgoing pressure or motion wavefield.

Abstract:
An improved metering unit is described which samples a power-related waveform and simultaneously captures its analog signal parameters for temperature and all phases of voltage and current, providing a more accurate and clearer waveform sample that effectively detects harmonics problems and does not require signal interpolation methods. The improved metering unit comprises signal conditioning circuitry interfacing with the power line for sensing temperature and all desired phases of voltage and current parameters of the waveform. The metering unit further comprises a processor having a timer output. The timer output controls track and hold circuitry and an A/D converter. The timer output places the track and hold circuitry in the hold mode to simultaneously capture temperature and all the desired phases of voltage and current of the waveform, and, at the same time, the timer output triggers the A/D converter to convert the captured analog signal parameters into digital sample values.

UN Weather Agency Warns of More Global Warming in May
WMO global climate director Dr. David Carlson said the new data showed 370 straight months of warm or warmer-than-average temperatures worldwide. WMO said the recent El Nino was only partly to blame for the recent temperature rise.
"The state of the climate so far this year gives us much cause for alarm," said David Carlson, Director of Geneva's World Climate Research Programme, in a release from the World Meteorological Association.
The startlingly high temperatures so far in 2016 have sent shockwaves around the climate science community, David Carlson, director of the World Climate Research Programme, co-sponsored by the WMO, said in a statement.
