Abstract:

A system and method for determining an equity protection insurance policy (EPIC) for investors or shareholders to protect their equity investment in a business entity based on the happening of a fortuitous event is disclosed. The EPIC is in the form of an insurance policy or a put option, in which the shareholder pays lower premiums for the option to sell the equity interest in the entity to the issuer (e. g. , carrier) of the EPIC upon the happening of a fortuitous event, such as an EO claim. Alternatively, rather than receiving an indemnity payment or a purchase of the investment as protection, the present invention also can be formulated as a letter of credit. In this embodiment, the shareholder pays a very low premium in exchange for a letter of credit promising to lend the investor a predetermined amount that is calculated to be sufficient to re-establish an investors business or start over in the same or similar line of work.

Abstract:

A device comprising memory foam can be used for restricting fluid flow through a passageway. Such a device can include memory foam having a body defined by a first end and a second end and at least one external wall extending therebetween. The body of the expanded memory foam can have a cross-sectional profile with a shape and size to securely fit within the passageway so as to restrict fluid flow through the passageway. Additionally, the memory foam can have a receiving portion that extends from the first end to the second end that is configured for receiving an object that extends from the first end to the second end. The receiving portion can have various configurations and can include internal portions and external portions of the memory foam. The receiving portion can self-form a conduit around the object by expanding the memory foam around the object.

A listing party uploads a detailed profile (e.g., indicating goods and/or service they desire to purchase) to a matching system. Abstract:

The methods and systems described herein encourage reductions in the production of pollutant gases by converting the individual's local efforts into a demonstration of the individual's global impact. The systems and methods enable an individual to establish a network of associated individuals. The efforts of the individuals within the network are then associated in a way that enables the individuals to see the results of their own efforts and the results of others they have influenced. Individuals in the network may be associated in a hierarchical-type structure, similar to a family-tree type structure, and some or all of the carbon savings of descendants may be attributed to the parent, grandparent, etc. Any of a variety of computational methods may be applied to reward an individual for efforts to encourage others to reduce the production of pollutant gases.
