In 1994, David Kent worked as a home builder, a career this family man had enjoyed for many years. Because of his close connection to the real estate industry, friends and family often approached him for advice or assistance when buying a real estate. While he accommodated their requests to the extent real estate law would allow, he quickly saw a unique need to fill: there were no real estate agents in Charleston that worked exclusively for buyers. No agents that provided 100% buyer representation. No agents that went to bat for the buyer at the negotiating table. No exclusive buyer’s agents at all.
With his distinctive background and extensive knowledge of the real estate industry, David Kent decided to embark on a new path. In 1995, with license in hand, David and his partner W.C. “Cece” Stricklin, opened Charleston’s first exclusive buyer’s agency. Steadfast and committed to buyer representation, this relatively new approach to the real estate business took flight.

A Different Breed
David is compensated like other real estate agents, by splitting the commission, which is generally built into the price of the property. This is where any similarity ends. Unlike agents representing the seller, David shows clients the entire market: MLS listings, for sale by owner real estate, foreclosures, new homes, commercial buildings, vacant land, and anything else clients are interested in buying. Although David helps all of his clients find lenders, insurance companies, inspectors, attorneys, and other businesses involved in a real estate transaction, he does not engage in questionable financial arrangements with them and never accepts kickbacks. Abstract:A forms-based computer interface and method captures and interprets handwriting, pen movements, and other manual graphical-type user input for use in computerized applications and databases. Abstract:A hot beverage dispensing machine is disclosed for dispensing a beverage from a concentrate. The dispensing machine includes a beverage concentrate container disposed in an inverted orientation within a refrigerated compartment. A first valve is associated with the container, the first valve permitting the flow of the concentrate from the container when the container is located within the refrigerated compartment in an inverted position. A receptacle having a receptacle output removably receives the inverted container. A first electrically controlled valve regulates the flow of the concentrate via the receptacle output to a mixer wherein the concentrate is mixed with hot water from a hot water tank. A second electrically controlled valve regulates the flow of hot water from the water tank to the mixer. A dispenser spout is disposed in fluid communication with the mixer with the spout being disposed remote from the hot water inlet.
