Abstract:

An apparatus for guiding an instrument inserted through an endoscope's instrument channel is provided. The apparatus can attach to an endoscope to guide the position of the end of the instrument, such as by constraining the instrument to bend in a predetermined manner, or otherwise guide the distal end of the instrument extending from the distal end of the instrument channel. The apparatus can be used to assist in positioning the instrument to perform useful work on tissue adjacent the perimeter of the endoscope. The apparatus can also be used to provide cooperation between instruments inserted either through or alongside the endoscope.

Abstract:

A localization mechanism, or fixture, is used in conjunction with a breast coil for breast compression and for guiding a core biopsy instrument during prone stereotactic biopsy procedures in both open and closed Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines. The localization fixture includes a fiducial marker and three-dimensional Cartesian positionable guide for supporting and orienting an MRI-compatible biopsy instrument with detachable probe/thumb wheel probe to the biopsy site of suspicious tissues or lesions.

Abstract:

Systems, methods, and apparatus for equalization preference learning are provided. An example method includes receiving a first label for a first audio concept for a media object and applying active learning to select a first example not yet rated by a first current user. The example method includes collecting a first user rating, by the first current user, of the first example compared to the first audio concept and applying transfer learning to combine the first user rating with ratings from prior users of examples not yet rated by the first current user to build a model of the first audio concept. The example method includes creating a tool operable by the first user to generate examples close to and far from the first label to modify the media object.
