Abstract:

A low-cost user portable signal enhancer unit for extending service coverage of wireless communications to a user in a desired area of limited coverage. The enhancement supports an increase of signal power levels to allow wireless communication usage in a location, such as a small office or home office environment where the original cellular signals are weak or unreliable. A base station signal is enhanced by a bi-directional amplifier device (BDA), which receives a base station signal, amplifies the signal power and retransmits the amplified signal in a first signal path to a user in close proximity. The bi-directional amplifier also receives a user signal, amplifies the signal power and retransmits the amplified signal to the base station in a second separate signal path. Dual polarized antennas can receive and transmit the respective signals at opposite polarizations to increase isolation of the signals.

Abstract:

A wireless repeater that can be remotely controlled and reconfigured, either locally or from a remote control center, after it has been installed in a customer's premises. The reconfigurable parameters and controllable settings include the frequency channel profile for the unit and the associated display profile, frequency channel selection, power level and on-off status, feedback circuit parameters, and system firmware. The communication ports for accessing the functionality of the unit include a wireless transmitter/receiver, such as an on-board wireless telephone chip, and a USB port. Once the unit has been connected to a personal computer through the USB port, the unit can be assigned an Internet IP address and addressed as network node on the Internet.

Abstract:

A wireless repeater with features that improve the server-donor antenna isolation including multi-purpose server and donor mounting plates that each carry an antenna feed circuit board and associated antenna elements mounted in a back-to-back arrangement with the duplex repeater electronics board sandwiched between the server and donor mounting plates. To improve the server-donor antenna isolation, one or both mounting plates may include corner, side tabs, which may be asymmetric, and raised walls around one or both mounting plates. In addition, the radomes covering the donor antenna and/or the server antennas may carry one or more parasitic conductors, such as a two parasitic strips arranged in parallel lines or for parasitic strips arranged in a square configuration.

Abstract:

A wireless repeater that includes a universal server base unit and modular donor antenna options. The universal server base unit includes a base unit bidirectional amplifier, a server antenna, and a housing that accepts an internal donor antenna board or an internal adapter module connected to a cable port for receiving a coaxial cable connected to an external donor antenna. This allows the same universal server base unit to work with a variety of internal and external donor antenna options. In particular, the external donor antennas include outdoor swivel-mounted options including a helical circular polarization antenna, a dual polarization panel antenna, and a vertical polarization panel antenna. The donor antenna may include an optional donor bidirectional antenna located in or near the donor antenna and powered via the cable from the server base unit.

Abstract:

The technology described herein is directed towards microwave attenuators, and more particularly to a cryogenic microwave attenuator device for quantum technologies. In some embodiments, a device can comprise a cryogenic microwave attenuator device. The cryogenic microwave attenuator device can comprise: a housing component and a microwave attenuator chip, wherein the housing component can have thermal conductivity of about at least 0.1 Watts per meter-Kelvin at 1 degree Kelvin. The cryogenic microwave attenuator device can also comprise a microwave connector comprising a signal conductor that is direct wire coupled to the microwave attenuator chip.
