Abstract:

A wire marker is provided. A carrier strip includes a first layer having at least one opening, two bands applied to opposite edges of the first layer, the bands including an adhesive on at least one side, and a label secured into the opening and attached to the adhesive. At least one access perforation may be located on the first layer that is horizontal and adjacent to one side of the opening. The access perforation facilitates removal of the label from the carrier and allows for insertion of a cable through the label. A plurality of horizontal carrier perforations may further be located between each opening on the first layer to facilitate removal of the carrier strip from a printer.

Abstract:

An indexing apparatus for changing automatically and rapidly calendar information of a clock includes an indexing assembly having both day and date means, each engageable with for driving respective day and date discs provided with calendar indicia. A cam driven by the drive train of the clock mechanism rotates through a full revolution each 12-hour period. A member including a plurality of gear teeth arranged in a sector is mounted for pivota movement against the bias of a spring which positions the member in the path of movement of the cam. The indexing assembly, further, includes an element formed by a disc and a sector gear which is driven in opposite directions by the member whose gear teeth are in driving engagement therewith. The disc of the element includes a pair of substantially diametrically oppositely disposed notches having oppositely inclined ramps between the upper and lower surfaces of the clutch disc. The components of the indexing assembly are mounted in a stack with the day means between the date means and the element.

Abstract:

The present invention describes the ability of synthetic cationic amphiphilic molecules to bind and sequester bacterial lipopolysaccharides and other microbial products that share structural and/or physical-chemical properties with those of LPS. Such cationic amphiphilic molecules have a molecular structure comprised of a linear or branched backbone derived from polymethylenes or alkylamines which bear at the termini two or more protonatable positively charged groups derived from primary-amino. imidazolinium, or N, N'-unsubstituted amidinium or guanidium functions. They also possess one or more lipophilic groups derived from fatty acids or hydrocarbon substituents, attached to the backbone via amide, ester, carbamate, or urethane linkages. The use of these compounds provide low cost, effective therapeutic method for the treatment of sepsis and septic shock.

Abstract:

One or more switch apparatus for controlling a digital display of a changing function each include stationary and movable contacts and an actuator having a rest position and movable longitudinally in opposite directions to second and third positions. Cam structure is supported on each actuator to interact with a follower carried by each movable contact whereby different conditions of switch operation may be indicated by the position of the actuator relative to the movable contact. Biasing structure intercooperates between each actuator and a support for biasing the actuator toward the rest position from at least one of the second and third positions. A latch, also, intercooperates with each actuator to latch the actuator in one of the last-mentioned positions.

Abstract:

The present invention is directed toward a terminal marker used to identify a terminal block. The terminal marker includes a front having a print surface, a back, sides, and flexible legs. The flexible legs can be positioned in a natural state for installation in the terminal block or a compressed state for obtaining a marking from a printer. In the natural state, the flexible legs extend at an angle with respect to the print surface of the terminal marker. In the compressed state, the flexible legs extend outward beyond of the sides of the terminal marker.
