Abstract:

A femoral guide is shown in the form of a femoral sizing guide for determining the size of a femoral knee prosthesis to be implanted at an implant site at a distal femur and includes a femoral sizing block connected to a foot component for selective pivotal movement about a pivotal axis extending in a generally axial direction and essentially intersecting the transepicondylar axis of the distal femur to enable a guide arrangement on the femoral sizing block to be located for facilitating subsequent placement of a femoral cutting guide on a distal femur in position to rotationally locate an anterior cut in a plane anterior of and essentially parallel to the transepicondylar axis of the distal femur. The femoral sizing block is connected to the foot component for selective linear movement to compensate for size variations outside standard femoral knee prosthesis sizes. Visible indications are provided of the location of a subsequently implanted femoral knee prosthesis.

Abstract:

A cutting block for resecting a bone, particularly the distal femur, has a body with a first generally planar bone contacting surface to contact the resected distal surface of the femur. The body has a second surface spaced from the bone contacting surface along an axis perpendicular to said generally planar bone contacting surface. The body has a perimeter surface extending between the first and second surfaces, wherein the perimeter surface is at least partially curved with respect to the axis in both a direction generally perpendicular thereto and generally parallel thereto. The perimeter surface may be polished.

Abstract:

Described is a poll-based networking system. The system provides an on-line network of friends that are determined through polling each of the users. This system polls a user with a variety of questions. After providing an answer to each question, the system compares, in real-time, the current user's responses with all other users' responses to identify those users that most similarly answered the questions to that of the current user. As the current user progressively answers additional questions, the system progressively updates the matching and presentation of similar users. As such, as the current user navigates the website by answering polling questions, the selected answers are compared against the selected answers of other users to generate a likelihood of match between the user and each of the other users. The user profiles of other users that have a likelihood of match within a predetermined threshold are then presented.

A conical burr template is indexed to the intramedullary canal of a tibia, such that a burr may trace the periphery of the template to define a correspondingly shaped cavity in the bone which is properly sized, shaped, and positioned to receive a cone-shaped tibial augment component. Abstract:

A surgical sagittal saw blade assembly and cutting guide for use with the blade assembly. The blade assembly includes a static bar from which a moving blade head protrudes. The blade head is reciprocated by a drive link internal to the bar. The cutting guide has a body that is positioned adjacent where the blade is to be used to cut tissue. The cutting guide has an outer surface over which the blade assembly is positioned. The cutting guide has a constraining feature. The constraining feature holds the blade bar to the body of the guide so the blade assembly can move over the body while being constrained from movement above the outer surface of the body. The constraining feature is mounted to the body of the cutting guide so as to be able to move while constraining guide retains the blade bar.
