Abstract:

Computing systems and methods for improving imaging of collected data are disclosed. In one embodiment, a first wavefield is propagated to obtain a first wavefield history; the first wavefield is again propagated to obtain a second wavefield history, wherein the propagation includes integration of one or more Q-effects; a first attenuated traveltime history is estimated based at least in part on the first and second wavefield histories; a first Q-model filter is calculated based at least in part on the first estimated attenuated traveltime; and a first adjusted wavefield is generated based at least in part on application of the first Q-model filter to the first wavefield. In some embodiments, an image is generated based at least on a first adjusted wavefield and a second wavefield.

Abstract:

To produce a continuous query for an append-only database, a client defined query first is converted into its minimal bounding non-decreasing monotone (hereinafter referred to as "monotonic increasing" query. This monotonic query, in turn, is converted into an incremental query, The resulting monotonically increasing incremental query then is installed on the database as a stored procedure that takes two date/time parameters (hereinafter referred to as "time" parameters), one of which (. tau. ) identifies the last time the procedure was executed, and the other of which (t) identifies the current time. All database records are timestamped as of the time that they are entered into the database. Thus, in operation, more or less standard procedure calls periodically invoke each of the stored query procedures, thereby periodically executing the incremental queries over database records that have timestamps spanning successive time slots.

A method of recording a real-time multimedia presentation and replaying a missed portion at an accelerated rate until the missed portion catches up to the current point in the presentation. The multimedia presentation may consist of audio, video, graphics, and text. A graphical timeline is provided to allow the user easy access to different points in the recorded presentation. All the media formats are synchronized at the accelerated rate and the audio is accelerated without changing its pitch.

A method includes receiving seismic data for a geologic region of the Earth; building a velocity model of the geologic region of the Earth; selecting at least one mode of multiple and corresponding travel time data from a data storage where the travel time data correspond to at least one complex ray signature in the geologic region of the Earth and are based at least in part on the velocity model; performing migration on the seismic data using at least the selected travel time data to generate processed seismic data; and rendering an image of the geologic region of the Earth to a display where the image includes at least a multiple image.
