Abstract:

A collaborative object architecture with one or more of the following technologies: 1) lightweight asynchronous messaging; 2) collaborative objects; 3) optimistic concurrency control; and 4) transparent object serialization. Lightweight asynchronous messaging allows highly responsive interactivity and natural interactions with minimal network loads. Collaborative objects allow ubiquitous sharing and provides each user with the same copy of the shared object. Optimistic concurrency control allows full-duplex group editing and natural interactions. Transparent object serialization provides real world persistence and support for asynchronous changes. Thus, combination of these technologies provides a collaborative object architecture with several advantages over the prior art.

Abstract:

In a network, a media coordination system provides secure multimedia communication channels in a collaborative network environment. The media coordination system provides automatic encryption, dynamic interconnection of streams of data, and user interface elements that provide users with control over the ultimate destination of their audio and video data. The infrastructure of the system includes a plurality of client workstations that are connected to a central server using point-to-point network connections. The central server maintains a persistent virtual world of network places with objects located therein. Streams of audio and video data are coordinated between client workstations operating in the persistent virtual world by a key manager object using channels, transmitters, and receivers. The client workstations multicast their audio and video data over the network to defined recipients after receiving a multicast address and an encryption key for a specific multicast channel. In order to protect the privacy of all communications and the integrity of the coordination system, each client workstation retains significant control over distribution and reception of audio and video data since multicast transmission is tied to specific user interface elements.

Abstract:

A composition which comprises a light absorbing layer adhered to an underlying layer containing a photo-chromic colorant, which photo-chromic colorant has been activated by exposure to UV light to undergo a reversible color change, and wherein the rate of color reversion is dependent on temperature, is provided. The ultraviolet light and/or visible light absorbing layer may also contain components which reflect rather than absorb light and can be conveniently applied via thermal transfer or ink jet to a substrate comprising the photo-chromic colorant to protect it from unwanted exposure to UV and/or certain wavelengths visible light. The composition is conveniently employed in a temperature time indicator (TTI).

Abstract:

An instrument for controlled delivery of a device to a target area near a defect of a bone is provided. The instrument comprises a guide frame having a plurality of device portals, each portal defining a trajectory. The guide frame further includes visual markers for aligning the guide frame to an anatomical landmark on the bone to be treated. The instrument also includes a holder for releasable attachment with the guide frame. Each device portal is configured to provide accurate and controlled delivery of the device to the target area. In one example, the markers are radiopaque, and are visualized through fluoroscopy. A method of using the instrument is also provided.
