Abstract:

A construction set for constructing a user-definable apparatus, for example a robot, is provided with one or more construction set components. The components may include components that are reconfigurable into other construction set components, and that have at least one demarcation defining adjacent segments thereof The demarcations facilitate reconfiguration of the construction set components to produce other construction set components. The construction set may include an electromechanical drive assembly having an integrated speed control and operable to receive interchangeable, non-circular drive shafts. The electromechanical drive assembly may be configured to attach to and self-align relative to other construction set components. One or more of the components may be provided with openings through which the non-circular drive shafts may rotate. The drive shaft may be locked in relation to openings of components that allow the drive shaft to rotate via a lock plate. A bearing plate may also be included.

Abstract:

A support and method for supporting equipment within a rack system regardless of its design is disclosed. The base of the support includes a surface capable of supporting the equipment reducing unintended movement of the equipment. Brackets capable of being securely attached to the rack system, regardless of whether it is two-post or four-post in design, are associated with the base of the support. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of selecting a design of rack system, attaching the support of the present system, and placement of the equipment to be supported.

Abstract:

A feed forward command aiding architecture with corresponding method, system, and computer product are provided. The feed forward command aiding architecture includes generating angle and rate commands from a received inertial data input. The angle command is feed into a proper order position loop producing an intermediate result. An angle feedback is differentiated producing a rate loop feedback. The intermediate result, rate command, and rate loop feedback are then feed into a proper order rate loop producing a torque command. The proper order rate loop is nested inside of the proper order position loop. The torque command being generated moves a beam steering element of an electro-optic sensor to deflect a line of sight of the electro-optic sensor by an angle approximating the received inertial angular input.

Abstract:

The present invention includes a pair of boxing robots. Each robot includes at least one wheel and at least one arm controllable through a control system on the robot that is in communication with a user control unit. The control system has at least one axis of inertial sensing to support balancing of the robot. Preprogrammed algorithms are configured to include a balance algorithm to (a) maintain the robot upright during movement and actions, (b) maintain the robot upright upon sensing impact or force onto the robot, (c) cause the robot to fall prone upon sensing a strong impact or force (defined above a threshold) or sensing repeated impacts above a threshold number, and (d) create specified movement to mimic swagger, loss of energy, and additional wobble to imitate dazing. A set of preprogrammed instructions to (a) control wheels to move the robot, (b) control arms to mimic punching.
