Abstract:

Methods for making a molded beverage container insulator from a slurry including water and a polysaccharide by presenting at least one male mold, which may have an elliptical cross section, therein and causing a portion of the slurry to temporarily adhere to the at least one mold. After a suitable period of time, removing the mold from the slurry and then removing the insulator. At such time, and particularly if the mold is not characterized as elliptical in cross section, the insulator is subject to bidirectional compression in order to collapse the same. Opposing hinge elements may be formed in the insulator, either at the time of molding or subsequently, to localize stresses resulting from the collapsing of the insulator. The resulting insulator is fully recyclable/compostable and possesses a constricting bias to mitigate container slip issues.

Abstract:

The invention is directed to columns, trays and systems including columns and trays that enable a user to conveniently and safely transport objects, such as one or more beverage containers, by tension (hanging) as opposed to compression (supporting). Column embodiments of the invention include a substantially elongate column extending from a central portion of a primary tray. Preferably, insertable column embodiments are formed from a pulp slurry and molded into a clam-shell configuration prior to assembly and used with a tray having an aperture and preferably a collar adapted to receive the insertable column. Supporting elements of the column engage a base portion of the tray, thereby providing a distributed support interface. Features of the invention include upper retaining elements to prevent dislodgment of the column from the tray when engaged therewith; a handle at an end opposite to the supporting elements for user grasping; and mid column accessory features such as supports for a secondary tray or tall beverage containers.

Abstract:

A biodegradable and recyclable paper internally fitted lid or closure which improves on current lids or closures. Embodiments of this invention provide an arrangement easier for the consumer to use as it is self “seating” and requires very little if any pressure to affix as gravity does most of the work. Abstract:

A display stand, including a flexible and/or segmented blank of material having a first surface, a second surface and a perimeter there between, wherein selected portions of the blank include an adhesive, and preferably a cohesive, selectively applied to areas of the blank to create attachment zones. Abstract:

Cast air delivery systems, cast ventilation sleeves and methods of manufacturing cast sleeves are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method of manufacturing cast ventilation sleeves includes forming an elongated cylindrical sleeve from a breathable, elastomeric material. The method can further include providing an air delivery tube configured to receive pressurized air. The method can also include disposing a plurality of spaced apart holes in the air delivery tube, wherein the holes can be positioned to disperse the pressurized air along a tube length. Additionally the method can include coupling the air delivery tube to the elongated sleeve to form a cast ventilation sleeve stock. The air delivery tube can be positioned to be generally parallel to a sleeve length and the tube length can be generally equal to a sleeve length. The elongated sleeve can be cut to a selectable length for use under an orthopedic cast.
