Abstract:

A method for alleviating congestion problems in prior art networks delays provision of dial tone signals to terminals that are, likely, carrying out a re-dial attempt in excess of a preselected number of re-dial attempts. A determination that the terminal seeking to establish a connection is likely carrying out a re-dial attempt may be based on numerous factors, such as the time since the last time the terminal desired to establish a call, the duration of the last call, etc. The delay that is imposed is, advantageously, sensitive to the number of times the terminal has attempted a re-dial, and on other conditions, such as the cause of the failure to establish a connection, network congestion conditions, etc. In imposing the dial tone delay, identities of the terminals that are to receive a delayed dial tone are placed in a FIFO queue.

Abstract:

A vehicle drape for retaining heated air and cooled air inside a front seat area of a vehicle. The drape is adapted for releasable attachment to a pair of vehicle ceiling hanger hooks disposed on opposite sides of a ceiling of the vehicle and behind the front seats of the vehicle. Also, the drape is adaptable for adjusting to different sizes and shapes of vehicle interiors and designed for redirecting air flow back into a front seat area. The drape includes a transparent thin sheet of plastic vinyl. The sides of the thin sheet include gripping scalloped edges for gripping the sides, ceiling and floor of the vehicle. A horizontal nylon suspension strap is attached to a length of an upper portion of the thin sheet. The horizontal suspension strap includes an adjustable first end and an adjustable second end. The first end and the second end include a moveable hook fastener strap arm and a loop fastener strap arm.

Abstract:

A more efficient over-the-air software push can be facilitated by leveraging a smart scheduling system for vehicles. The smart scheduling system can use location and network capacity data to prioritize over-the-air software pushes for vehicles. For instance, a vehicle, which is only operational during off-peak wireless network hours can receive a software push during the off-peak times because wireless network capacity is not an issue. However, vehicles, which are used primarily during heavy peak wireless network times can receive software in a prioritized manner based on location data, frequency of use, network capacity, etc.

Software downloads to Internet of things (IoT) devices are facilitated over a constrained network. In one embodiment a method comprises monitoring, by a network device comprising a processor, data determined to have been sent to a device for transmission to the device via a radio access network device of a wireless communication network, and determining, by the network device, a type of traffic associated with the data. The method further includes based on a determination that the data comprises firmware and that the type of traffic is of a traffic priority that is lower than a defined traffic priority, applying, by the network device, a low priority transport protocol to the data, wherein the applying comprises associating protocol information with the data representative of the low priority transport protocol.
