Abstract:

A roll of interconnected detachable fabric or cloth sheets provides an environmentally friendly cost effective reusable alternative to disposable paper towels, and nonwoven wipes and mop pads. Each of the sheets includes a front surface and a rear surface. The front surface of one sheet is connected with the rear surface of an adjacent sheet to form the roll by connectors such as male and female hook and loop ribbon sections. The individual sheets can also be used as mop head covers. A dispenser for the sheets includes a spindle for rotatably retaining the roll and a rack for supporting a detached sheet for air drying between uses.

A process for producing high purity 6,12-dideoxyerythromycin A using recombinant DNA technology is disclosed. The erythromycin producing strain, Saccharopolyspora erythraea, lacking the erythromycin C-12 and C-6 hydroxylases produces a mixture of 6,12-dideoxyerythromycin A and the precursor molecule, 6-deoxyerythromycin D. To achieve conversion of the precursor to the final product, a second copy of eryG is inserted into a non-essential region of the Sac. erythraea chromosome resulting in high purity 6,12-dideoxyerythromycin A.

Exemplary embodiments provide automatic injection devices in which a shroud is automatically deployed to protectively sheath a needle after an injection is performed. Exemplary embodiments also provide shroud deployment assemblies including a shroud and a syringe carrier that, when cooperatively configured in an automatic injection device, ensure that the shroud is automatically and completely deployed after an injection is performed using the automatic injection device. Exemplary embodiments are also configured to ensure that, once the shroud is deployed to an extended position to sheath the needle, accidental forces applied to the shroud do not succeed in subsequently retracting the shroud to a retracted position in which the needle would become exposed.

Abstract:

Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for facilitating injection of a medicament using an automatic injection device. The automatic injection device includes a housing defining a confined inner space and having a length extending from a proximal end to a distal end along a longitudinal axis. A helical biasing member, or spring, is disposed in the confined inner space, and the spring has an inner diameter at a middle portion that is greater than an inner diameter at the terminal ends of the spring. A syringe plunger has a second bifurcated end extending into an inner bore of the spring. The bifurcated end includes two flexible arms that are able to flex inwardly and outwardly relative to the longitudinal axis within the inner bore of the spring while maintaining an annular gap between the syringe plunger and the spring.
