Abstract:

A gain control circuit for a light source in an optical encoder derives a signal from the phototransducers that receive the light through the encoder disc. In one embodiment, a signal is taken between the transducer and potential source and in alternative embodiments the signal is taken from the phototransducer output. If a periodic index pulse is generated, a correcting circuit compensates for its effect. Where all of the transducers do not receive a substantially constant continuing illumination level, a filter-integrator circuit provides the d. c. component to the gain control circuit.

Abstract:

A transducer selecting system for use in a noisy environment can operate in a vibration monitoring system using a data processor. Narrow band signals representing transducer information at selected frequencies of interest are subtracted from broad band signals representing information and background noise. The magnitude of the background noise components of each transducer is used to select from among duplicative transducers or to signal potentially unreliable information.

Abstract:

A vibration monitoring system for aircraft engines includes a nonrecursive digital filter network controlled by a data processor. Digital techniques process tachometer signals to general sampling signals at a frequency which is an integral multiple of the rotating frequency. A novel digital filter can track the rotational frequency of the rotating component and can be accurately centered upon that frequency. The digital filter includes a pair of memories, one of which stores constant coefficients and the other of which stores sampled data. The sampled data storage can accommodate the output of more than one sensor and data from each sensor can be alternatively processed.

Abstract:

Calendar management devices and systems are disclosed that are configured with hardware to generate a calendar object and a calendar share identifier associated with the calendar object, and to cause the calendar share identifier to be provided to each of a plurality of calendar users. User input is received indicating a new event associated with the calendar object, and in response to the user input, the device(s) are configured to determine an authorization level of the new event based on the user input, generate a calendar event object comprising the authorization level, and automatically send a publication request to a remote server over a network, wherein said sending the publication request directs the remote server to determine a subset of the plurality of calendar users based on the authorization level and to send the event object to each of the subset of the plurality of calendar users. Media data indicative of one or more media items associated with the new event is received and associated with the event object.
