Abstract:

A system is provide for effectively managing lease transactions in a comprehensive manner. Data is generated, processed, and stored at the lowest possible logical level in order to maximize the flexibility of a user to conduct processing at the asset, billing schedule, lease, account owner, master agreement, customer, or program level. Using a fully normalized data design, similar characteristics are treated similarly and different characteristics are treated differently. Unlike other systems, assets associated with the same lease can be treated differently without having to fake asset level processing by using multiple leases with one asset each, to represent one actual lease. A hierarchy of rule settings is enforced, whereby the rule at the lower more specific level trumps the rule at the higher or more general level. The system uses a highly encapsulated accounting engine which encapsulates accounting rules in a transparent incorporates accounting expertise in flexible and transparent manner. The accounting engine is triggered by business events to automatically generate accounting entries.

Abstract:

A telescoping wall joint system is disclosed, for connecting adjacent sections of an architectural structure, while accommodating substantial relative movement, such as might result from seismic activity Extended motion is provided in the joint system while avoiding the use of excessively wide components, which are both costly and aesthetically undesirable. A center cover plate, which spans the open space between two adjacent structural units, is received along one or both sides in a tubular sleeve. The cover plate is slidably extendable within a predetermined range in the tubular sleeves to accommodate normal movements of the structural units, such as may result from thermal expansion and contraction, for example. The tubular sleeves themselves are slidably received within fixed housings mounted on the respective structural units. When the separating movement of two adjacent structural units becomes so great that the cover plate reaches a limit condition in its slidable extension out of the tubular sleeves, the sleeves themselves slidably extend in relation to the housings in which they are carried.

Abstract:

An elastomeric joint seal for architectural structures is provided with a multi-part cover and employs special anchoring hardware at least partially, and preferably entirely, mounted outside of the joint. The preferred mounting hardware comprises channels for receiving anchoring ribs of the multi-part cover. The main portion of the cover spans and seals the architectural joint, and is secured in the mounting hardware by anchoring ribs at each side. Cover strips are also anchored in the mounting hardware, and cover any exposed portions of the mounting hardware. The effective width of the joint is increased, by locating the mounting hardware outside of the joint space, which enables the joint to be designed to a narrower width dimension. The cover strips may be of a different color than the main seal to minimize the sight line. Significant economies are realized in the manufacture and installation, in part because the multi-part cover construction enables smaller and therefore less expensive extrusion equipment to be employed, and in part because the traditional difficulties involved in preparing the joint faces and in installing the mounting hardware within the joint space are avoided.

Abstract:

Described are dry cast lightweight veneer blocks and a system and method of installing lightweight veneer blocks. The courses can be assembled without mortar between the courses. As an example, sides of the veneer blocks have areas that recede from an imaginary plane between adjacent veneer blocks to give a deep texturing and a shadow effect between veneer blocks. The installation system and method include a substrate, an air barrier applied to the substrate, a plurality of veneer blocks, and an adhesive applied between the plurality of veneer blocks and the air barrier.

Concrete masonry unit blocks with recesses providing pockets sized to receive dimensional lumber components, enabling easy design and fabrication of block and lumber assemblies, typically using construction adhesive to bond the blocks to each other.
