Abstract:

A discrete multitone stacked-carrier spread spectrum communication method is based on frequency domain spreading including multiplication of a baseband signal by a set of superimposed, or stacked, complex sinusoid carrier waves. In a preferred embodiment, the spreading involves energizing the bins of a large Fast Fourier transform (FFT). This provides a considerable savings in computational complexity for moderate output FFT sizes. Point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint (nodeless) network topologies are possible. A code-nulling method is included for interference cancellation and enhanced signal separation by exploiting the spectral diversity of the various sources. The basic method may be extended to include multielement antenna array nulling methods for interference cancellation and enhanced signal separation using spatial separation. Such methods permit directive and retrodirective transmission systems that adapt or can be adapted to the radio environment. Such systems are compatible with bandwidth-on-demand and higher-order modulation formats and use advanced adaptation algorithms.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to methods for performing data processing operations associated with securities and security structures. More particularly, one embodiment of the present invention relates to a computer implementable method for performing data processing operations associated with a security, comprising: structuring the security to include a convertible note, which convertible note is convertible into a fixed number of shares of common stock of the issuer, which convertible note has associated therewith a maturity and which convertible note pays interest; and calculating whether a price of a share of common stock of the issuer is less than a predetermined threshold percentage of a conversion price associated with the note so that the note is not convertible if the price of the share of common stock of the issuer is less than the predetermined threshold percentage of the conversion price associated with the note.

Abstract:

A system and method for monitoring the location of a tracking device are disclosed. An example method includes defining location criteria, associating the location criteria with a user, associating the tracking device with the user, comparing location data generated by the tracking device to the location criteria, and transmitting notification to said user if the location data satisfies the location criteria. An example system includes a tracking device interface for communicating with a tracking device, a network interface for communicating with a user, a processing unit for processing data and code, and memory for storing the data and the code, the data and the code together including data associating the tracking device with the user, location criteria associated with the user, and a monitoring routine operative to transmit notification to the user if location data generated by the tracking device satisfies the location criteria. A graphical user interface and implementing data structures are also disclosed.

A generator and rechargeable battery system for use with pedal powered vehicles, such as bicycles, and where either the generator or battery can intermittently power a load such as a lighting system of the vehicle in one mode of operation, and in which the generator can recharge the battery in another mode of operation.
