High Speed, Low Noise, Low Inductance Transmission Line Cable
174113R, 174107, 174102 R, 174105 R, 174115, 174117 F
Abstract:
A transmission line cable that utilizes a plurality of substantially flat insulated conductors, each consisting of two or more solid metallic strands laid side by side in a parallel configuration within an extruded insulator. The plurality of insulated conductors are stacked into groups of two or more and may be utilized as signal conductors or shield conductors. Once the insulated conductors are stacked, the stack is twisted together, and either wrapped in a conductive insulator, placed in an extruded non-conductive insulator, or both, creating a cable that is stable, flexible, and has improved transmission characteristics, including reduced attenuation, noise and signal skew.
The present invention provides a cable assembly and method of making thereof for use with HDMI/DVI connectors. The cable assembly of the present invention includes a flat extruded cable jacket that includes an oblong cross section. Parallel oblong orifices lie across the cross section of the extruded jacket, extend the length of the jacket and provide a means for the insertion of solid straight conductors extending through the oblong orifices. The alignment of the oblong orifices in conjunction with a cylindrical orifice provides a means to attach the conductors to a HDMI/DVI connector. The oblong configurations as associated with the present invention are also applicable for Firewire cable and provides for a flat cable assembly for use therein.

Abstract:
The method for comparing the sonic characteristics of two pair of audio interconnect cables includes the step of, in a first instance, switching, electrically connecting and transferring the analog electrical signals from an audio source to an amplifier driving a pair of speakers (sometimes speakers in a headphone set) via a pair of reference interconnect cables (sometimes referred to as a reference cable set). In a second instance, the method includes switching, electrically connecting and transferring the analog electrical signals from the audio source to the amplifier and speakers via a test interconnect cables set. The designation of cables as "reference" or "test" cables is not important. The steps of switching, electrically connecting, and transferring the analog signals to and from the reference cables and the test cables are conducted with substantially identical electrical losses and electrical signal distortion. One type of cable comparator may compare a test cable set to a short, direct connect, low loss electrical channel in the comparator.

Abstract:
A coaxial audio cable is provided having a core, braided inner and outer conductors, dielectric layer between the inner and outer conductor and a jacket surrounding the outer conductor. The inner conductor is disposed around the core at a braid angle of approximately eighteen degrees. The dielectric layer is wrapped around the braided inner conductor. The outer conductor is disposed around the dielectric layer at a braid angle of approximately thirty-eight degrees. The cable is designed to provide a 5:6 overall ratio between the number of strands in the inner conductor and the number of strands in the outer conductor. The inner and outer conductors of the coaxial audio cable are designed to have matching series impedances.
Tension-stabilized furniture structures and frame assemblies to form simplified flat packing furniture that eliminates all fasteners, welds and braces. Simplified assembly of pre-tensioned structures providing improved stability, uniformity of support and visual aesthetics. The seat cover material can be netting, fibrous material or textiles. The seating system includes outwardly angled side rails having the profile of furniture, such as seats, couches, chaise lounges, ottomans and the like. The angling of the side rails secures their connection to supporting cross rails with the application of a fitted cover sleeve. The sleeves slidingly engage the frame assembly and provide tension to the frame assembly resulting in highly stable furniture.
An aerodynamic wingsail and mast assembly, which does not utilize a boom or gaff, and which is simply designed to include a singular sailcloth and resilient bow rod which are removably attached to a free standing mast. The bow rod includes a pair of open-ended brackets to engage the mast, and is positioned in a curved sleeve on the trailing edge of the sailcloth. The sailcloth includes a forward sleeve for receiving the mast. Flanges on the mast engage the brackets, and the sailcloth is simply slid off the mast by releasing the brackets and tension of the bow rod. Alternative embodiments are described for 3 dimensional wingsails.
