Abstract:
A sheet feeder and separator assembly for separating and sequentially feeding individual print media sheets from a stack thereof includes a frame having at least one bearing recess. A removable print media tray is carried by the frame. A separator is connected to the removable print media tray. A pick module assembly is removably connected to the frame adjacent the removable print media tray. The pick module assembly includes a pick roller adjacent the separator to form a nip and at least one flexible bearing is removably received in the at least one bearing recess to removably connect the pick module assembly to the frame.

Abstract:
A method for etching a trench is provided. The method initiates with providing a substrate having a patterned feature. The method includes alternating between deposition of a protective layer onto inner surfaces of the patterned feature and etching the trench into the substrate. The alternating may be achieved through a gas modulation technique and in one embodiment, the deposition and the etching are performed in the same chamber, i. e. , the substrate does not move to a different chamber between the etch and deposition processes. The alternating is continued until the trench is completed and then the trench is filled. A semiconductor processing system is also provided.

Abstract:
An image output device includes a marking engine and a media path adjacent the marking engine. The media path has a media transportation direction and a media transport element (e. g. , a nip drive, a belt drive, a suction drive, an air pressure drive, etc. ) within the media path that moves the media along the media path in the media transportation direction. A drive motor is operatively connected to the media transport element. The drive motor provides drive force in a forward direction that causes the media transport element to move media along the media path in the media transportation direction. The drive motor can also provide the drive force in a reverse direction opposite the forward direction. A one-way drive transfer device (e. g. , a one-way clutch, a one-way swing arm mechanism, etc.

Abstract:
An integrated module for installation within a printer may include a module frame and a plurality of printer subsystem components. The module frame is configured to fit within a predetermined space within a printer and to connect to a printer frame positioned about the predetermined space. The plurality of printer subsystem components are configured to mount to the module frame. At least one printer subsystem component includes a default module media path and at least one diverter-directed module media path within the printer subsystem component. The at least one printer subsystem component is configured to connect to the module frame at a position that enables the default module media path and the at least one diverter-directed module media path to complete a printer media path through the predetermined space when the module frame having the printer subsystem component is connected to the printer frame.

Abstract:
A new media path includes a flexible member that cooperates with a control point for smooth transitions of media sheets along the path. The media path includes an elongated member having a first end and a second end, the elongated member having a longitudinal axis and a cross-member axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the elongated member having a first surface that is non-linear in at least one of the longitudinal and cross-member axes, and a bevel on a second surface of the elongated member, the bevel being proximate to the first end of the elongated member at a predetermined distance from the first end.

Abstract:
An impact printer has a print band moving longitudinally around pulleys with one side of the band moving in contact along a rigid platen and the other side having engraved characters presented along a print line of a print medium (e. g. paper and ink ribbon). The leading edge of platen is squared off (e. g. sharp) to scrape contamination off the band. A row of hammers impact the print medium against the band between the hammers and an impact surface of the platen. The impact surface of the platen contains multiple longitudinal grooves which start slightly back from the leading edge of the platen and which prevent increased friction force between the band and platen from occurring as the band wears the platen impact surface smooth.

Abstract:
A method for purging an ink jet print head to clear ink jet orifices is provided. A purge cap forms a vacuum seal over the orifice plate of the print head. Multiple low pressure differential vacuum pulses are applied to the purge cap to remove debris and trapped air bubbles from the ink jet orifices. The low pressure pulses avoid cavitation inside the print head and reduce the amount of ink expelled during the purging process.
Wind Energy Conversion Systems, Devices, And Methods
Airborne devices for generating power in a crosswind power generating phase, including a body and at least one non-planar wing. A control system directs the airborne device to follow a predetermined flight path of increasing altitude during the crosswind power generating phase. Wind energy conversion systems and methods including an airborne device, a tether, a generator, and a control system that directs the airborne device to follow a predetermined flight path including a crosswind power generating phase.
