Abstract:

This invention relates to a fixture for use in a physical vapor deposition coating operation which comprises a support structure comprising a circular base member , a circular top member opposite the circular base member , and a plurality of structural members joining said top member to said base member ; a plurality of panel members aligned in a vertical direction around the outer periphery of said support structure forming a cylinder-like structure; said panel members including a plurality of apertures for holding workpieces and to which a coating is to be applied; and said apertures positioned on said panel members so that said workpieces and are aligned in a staggered vertical direction. This invention also relates to a method for simultaneously coating a plurality of workpieces and , such as gas turbine compressor blades and vanes, with erosion resistant coatings using the fixture of this invention.

Abstract:

A pre-load indicating washer for properly tensioning a joint held together by an externally threaded member and an internally threaded member. The pre-load indicating washer has a plurality of protuberances, struck and partially sheared from the annular body of the washer, which are pushed under load back into a corresponding number of indentations in the annular body which are formed when the protuberances are formed. Abstract:

In some embodiments, an electronic and digital building block system includes modular electronic building modules that can be electrically coupled together to create various different electronic devices. In addition to physical electronic modules, the system can include digital building blocks to further enhance and integrate the functions of an assembled bit-system that can be created/assembled by a user of the block electronic building system. The digital building blocks are not a physical module, but digital content or other software or cloud applications that can be represented as virtual digital blocks, and that can interface with the physical modules.
