Abstract:

A grade list and averaging, hand-held calculator is disclosed for use by teachers and others in quickly determining the numeric grade of a test-exam, or equal parts constituting a âwholeâ to be analyzed, and the average of past numeric grades. In the determination of the numeric grade of a test-exam, for example, the calculator allows the entry of the total number of problems on the test, and, corresponding to this total number of problems, displays first and additional lists of potential numeric percentage grades correlating to respective first and additional ranges of problems wrong within the original number of problems on a test entered into the calculator. Each of the first and additional lists are displayed simultaneously as multiple numeric grades, one after the other on the display of the calculator. In one embodiment, ten potential grades are viewed simultaneously. The teacher can quickly scroll through the list of grades and corresponding range of problems wrong, and determine the actual grade by correlating one of the range of problems wrong with its corresponding simultaneously presented numeric percentage grade in the list of grades displayed.

Abstract:

A generally cylindrical security door module is designed for retrofit into the passageway of an aircraft leading to the cockpit. Two doors, forward and aft, are provided which are mounted for opening and closing upon commands emanating from the cockpit. Both doors are normally closed and only one normally opens at a time. A candidate for entrance to the cockpit is permitted to enter the module when the cockpit personnel open the aft door, which is then closed. Sensing apparatus may be employed to establish the identity and clearance of the candidate. Upon approval, the cockpit personnel open the forward door to admit the candidate. Emergency release apparatus is also described.

Abstract:

An apparatus for attracting fish including at least one iridescent member forming an iridescent tail extending from the shank of a fish hook. The iridescent tail includes one or more layers of a translucent film. The layers have an elongated shape with a longitudinal fold. The forward end of the layers is folded over the shank of the hook and secured to the hook. In various embodiments, the iridescent tail includes one or more colored translucent layers, trailing ribbons, and/or a worm-shaped member. The outboard end of the iridescent tail is configured to be pointed or have a V-shape. In another embodiment, the layers have one or more slits parallel to the longitudinal fold.

A weighted body having a cabochon shape includes a fin member that extends past the body. The fin member includes an attachment portion and a fin that has a non-planar configuration. The attachment portion is secured to a flat surface of the body. In one embodiment the fin extends forward and forms an obtuse angle relative to the attachment portion. In another embodiment the fin has two members disposed laterally on opposite sides of the body. The fins are blades that cause the body to spin or rotate when moved relative to the water. In yet another embodiment the fin extends forward and aft relative to the body, and the fin has openings for connecting lines and hooks, thereby replacing the eyelet of other embodiments.
