Abstract:

A storage system for receiving, delivering and storing items, e. g. mail items, to be distributed. Items are stored in a flexible manner allowing sufficient space to be allocated to each item while ensuring that the total available space is utilised in an optimal manner. Items may be carried on trays. The size of the items is determined in order to allocate the correct amount of space. Items may be repositioned during non-operational periods in order to reduce time consumed during delivery of items from the system. Abstract:

A mobile retail store structure transportable to a plurality of different locations includes a trailer construction configured both exteriorly and interiorly for housing a plurality of storage bins wherein products and/or parts can be stored. Each trailer is a self-sufficient module which includes doors at one end of the trailer unit for entry and exit thereto, portable stairs for providing access to the entry doors, opposed side doors and associated walkways for allowing coupling to additional similarly constructed trailers, extendable canopies for providing a secure passageway between the respective coupled trailers, and a generator/HVAC system for providing heating, cooling and electrical power to each trailer unit. In one embodiment, a terminal is provided to allow a user to either browse electronically various items for selection and/or sale, or access a self-service check-out station to complete a transaction. A plurality of terminals can be coupled to communicate with a master server terminal over a wired/wireless network.

Abstract:

A storage, transportation and retrieval system, and accompanying storage racks, are disclosed for increasing the effective storage capacity of the storage racks, providing simultaneous access to two adjacent storage racks, requiring less call-ups to locate desired items. The system is so arranged that it can be implemented to occupy less area. The storage racks are constructed to provide access to its storage area from at least either side of the storage rack. The system is arranged to move the storage racks in a path which may be of virtually any shape. A circular or substantially similar path imparts the advantages of permitting ready access to any two adjacent storage racks.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for managing insurance policies donated or to be donated to charity are provided. A representative system of managing insurance policies comprises a processing device and memory that stores a portfolio manager having instructions that are executed by the processing device. The portfolio manager comprises the following logic: allocating donated life insurance policies to at least one receiving entity; pooling the allocated donated life insurance policies for the at least one receiving entity; determining a distribution percentage of the at least one receiving entity and/or the supported charitable organizations of the receiving entity by comparing the allocated donated life insurance policies with the pooled allocated donated life insurance policies; and distributing proceeds to the at least one receiving entity and/or the supported charitable organizations of the receiving entity from the pooled donated life insurance policies based on the determined distribution percentage of the at least one receiving entity and/or the supported charitable organizations of the receiving entity.
