A connector includes a housing having a mating face configured to join a mating connector. A contact held in the housing proximate the mating face. A gel material is provided on the housing between the contact and the mating face. The gel material includes a self-sealing slit formed in the gel material. The slit is configured to accept the mating connector. When the mating connector is removed, the slit closes to seal the contact.

Abstract:
A shock and vibration resistant electrical connector for making an electrical connection between at least two contacts, comprising a driver assembly which comprises a driver (preferably of heat-recoverable metal) which is capable of shrinking radially inwardly and of exerting a radially inward force, the assembly having two internal surfaces of insulating material which face one another and which are forced towards one another when the driver shrinks; and electrical contacts on the surfaces.

Abstract:
An arrangement for holding elongate substrates in a desired array having a plurality of passageways divided into compartments separated by pairs of spaced apart parallel flexible arms. The arms allow only two substrates to be inserted into each compartment, providing separation of additional substrates and the cannonballing effect is thereby eliminated.
A side entry heat recoverable article. The heat recoverable article comprises a longitudinal body member composed of a cross-linked polymer and having a generally C-shaped cross section. The body member preferably includes circumferential ribs. A layer of adhesive adjacent to the interior surface of the body member may be co-extruded with the body member or provided separately. The heat recoverable article is preferably used for repairing damaged wire.
A heat recoverable article comprises a tube of polymeric material and a spring. The spring has a first bent configuration in which it is bent at a specific angle and a second configuration in which it is relatively straight, the spring being held in its first configuration by the tube. When the article is heated the polymeric material of the tube softens thereby permitting the spring to recover toward its bent configuration. The spring can be selected such that it recovers with sufficient force to bent a substrate over with the tubular recoverable article is positioned.
