Abstract:

The invention is a method for creating a micropolarizer, including providing a first plate having a first and a second surface, providing a second plate having a first and a second surface. Then coating a polyimide on each of the first surface of the two plates followed by rubbing the polyimide coated upon the first surface of the first plate along a predetermined direction and rubbing the polyimide coated upon the first surface of the second plate along a direction having a predetermined angle in relation to the predetermined direction. An alignment process includes aligning the first plate and the second plate having the first surface of the first plate and the first surface of the second plate facing each other thereby creating a space there between. In conclusion there is a filling of a liquid crystal material in the space whereby a cell, or film is created.

Abstract:

A film for forming a 3D display body capable of obtaining a 3D image having higher display quality and a higher cubic feeling, by developing a 3D image containing right-eye image display portions a and left-eye display portions b in mixtures, wherein a laminate phase difference film is formed by laminating, on a transparent support member , a plurality of phase differences films ′ such as a polycarbonate film or stretched PVA film having birefringence in such a fashion that the optical axes thereof cross one another; predetermined portions of the laminate phase difference film are removed; an appropriate synthetic resin is packed into the removed portions and are set to the right-eye image display portions a; and portions of the laminate phase difference film other than the right-eye image display portions a are set to the left-eye image display portions b.

Abstract:

A desktop-based stereoscopic projection display system affording high-resolution stereoscopic and peripheral viewing of three-dimensional color imagery over a field of view of at least 180. degree. The projection volume required by each image projector of the display system is disposed substantially within the overall display volume of the display system, while maximizing the viewing volume within which the viewer is free to move during interactive stereoscopic viewing sessions. The display system utilizes high-resolution image projectors, keystoning correcting optics and projection-beam folding mirrors which are compactly mounted immediately above the upper volume-boundary surface of the overall display volume of the system, in order to permit the use of three-dimensional display structures having footprints and display volumes that are supportable upon desktops and in other viewing environments characterized by spatial restrictions.
