Abstract:

A server for facilitating a vendor showcase system, wherein the server communicates with clients via a distributed computing network, and wherein the server includes a memory storing an instruction set and vendor data related to a plurality of vendors. The server also includes a processor for running the instruction set, the processor being in communication with the memory and the distributed computing network. The processor is operative to (i) sort the vendor data based upon category, (ii) receive criteria related to a request for information, and (iii) provide a display of the vendor data for a pre-selected number of vendors based upon the criteria, wherein the display of the vendor data is presented in a flat manner. The processor may be further operative to compile return on investment statistics based upon user traffic and viewing at the display.

Abstract:

A graphical user interface includes a scrollbar located centrally between two panes displaying interactive content. Moving the scrollbar causes movement of the content in both panes to scroll. The panes include additional content regions (represented, for example, by an image or color) located near the scrollbar. Selecting one of the additional content regions, such as by holding a mouse cursor over it, causes additional content to be displayed. The additional content may include links and an additional scrollbar for scrolling within the additional content.

Abstract:

An ophthalmic aspirator-irrigator system for use during cataract surgery is disclosed. The system frees both hands of the surgeon for the surgical tasks and leaves the automatic operation of the system to a single control input operated by a foot pedal. The pedal controls both the aspiration and ejection functions as well as their respective speeds. The ophthalmic aspirator-irrigator system essentially comprises a hand-held device, a control box operable by the foot pedal and a power cord connecting the device with the box. A source of fluid is connected via a tube to the device to effect the irrigation function. The control box includes a power source and a circuit coupled to the source and via the cord to the device. Preferably, the circuit includes a bridge output network controlled by a linear motion slide type potentiometer controlled by the foot pedal. The circuit further includes dual DC amplifiers and a pulse-width modulated gate circuit to operate the device bidirectionally with a smooth, continuous and variable speed.

Abstract:

A tissue retractor with an adjustable center claw. The retractor includes two pivoted retractor arms. An axially and angularly displaceable, spring biased clamping mechanism is positioned on the pivot axis. In a mounting position, a elongated clamping element aligns with a slot in the center claw. When the center claw is positioned and the clamp moves to its clamping position, the elongated clamping member clamps the center claw in position. The counterfacing surfaces of the center claw and the clamping member are toothed to provide a positive one-way ratchet clamp.

Abstract:

A grill brush includes a brush head with brush-head upper and lower surfaces, the brush-head lower surface having a plurality of bristles protruding therefrom. An elongated handle extends between handle proximate and distal ends. The handle distal end is defined in part by a brush-head mount including a mounting surface configured to retain the brush-head upper surface. A grill-cleaning implement plate is situated at least partially between the brush-head upper surface and the brush-head mount and extends longitudinally between plate back and front ends. At least one of the plate back and front ends has depending therefrom a grate-cleaning implement. The implement plate is rotatably retained between the brush-head upper surface and the brush-head mount such that, with the brush head stationary relative to the brush handle, the implement plate can be rotated with respect to the brush handle and brush head between mutually opposed first and second angular orientations.
