Abstract:

A hand-held gemstone viewing scope includes a slidable armature movable relative to a base and defining a viewer housing a lens. A platform is rotatably connected to a top end of the base and configured to adjustably mount a gemstone or ring in line with the lens. A gem laser inscription is determined by mounting a ring or gemstone in line with the lens, moving the armature to focus the lens on the gemstone, and rotating the platform until the gem inscription is located.

Abstract:

A method and system for performing predictive maintenance on an item of equipment comprises establishing a desired configuration of the item of equipment based on a predictive maintenance target of the item of equipment. The predictive maintenance target may include at least one of a functional configuration objective, a logical configuration objective, and an operational configuration objective. An actual configuration of the item of equipment is monitored. It is determined if the actual configuration complies with the desired configuration. An upgrade requirement is planned for upgrading the actual configuration to the desired configuration if the actual configuration is non-compliant.

Abstract:

A thick tube welder for welder together a tubular end fitting and a tube. The end fitting and the tube are placed in axial alignment within a welding head housing with the end fitting being located in a mounting housing. The mounting housing is then fixedly secured to the welding head housing. An inner welding electrode is connected to the mounting housing and is located in alignment with the inner surface of the welding joint. An outer welding electrode is located in alignment with the exterior surface of the welding joint with this electrode being mounted on the welding head housing. Both electrodes are rotatably driven either simultaneously or in sequence in order to create the weld between the tube and the end fitting. Depending on the length of the end fitting, the inner welding electrode is to be adjustable longitudinally relative to the welding joint.

Abstract:

A sterile covering enabling an endoscope to be attached to or detached from a camera coupling without contamination by either the camera or the coupling. The sterile covering encloses the camera and is disposed within a cavity of a C-mount coupling which couples the endoscope to the camera. The covering includes a system for registering an optically clear portion of the covering, an optically clear film, or an element coupled to the covering with the endoscope-to-camera optical path. In one embodiment, the same system which establishes optical registration also enables attachment of the covering to the C-mount coupling, thereby providing an optically clear, fluid-impermeable barrier between the endoscope and the camera, and eliminating possible contamination of the endoscope by either the C-mount coupling or the camera.
